    Origin

    Sparkington "Sparky" J. Northrup was born in the United States, but was adopted by Lord Wellington of Suppleshire, England. In 1942, Lord Wellington sent Sparky back to America.

    From August to November of 1942 Sparky served as the sidekick to Dan Garret, the Blue Beetle.

    When Dan Garret worked as a Special Intelligence Operative in World War II, we saw the return of Sparky, now known as Spunky. He served proudly on the front lines as Blue Beetle's sidekick once again, this time in civilian clothes instead of his customary blue costume.
