Those who know the origins of the soulsword would know it was forged from the remains of Illyana's innocent soul with the motivation for revenge against Belasco as explained from Magik: Storm and Illyana #4 but future writers suggested it existed long before illyana's time and corrupts it's users but Illyana was already partially corrupted by Belasco's dark sorcery before she created the soulsword as a last resort. From Quest for Magik, Kyle and Yost had suggested the power of the soulsword comes from innocence which stayed true from it's origins from the 1980's. Because of all the convolutions, how can it all be tied together? I would like to hear your thoughts about it.
