Sodam Yat is a Daxamite and the Green Lantern of Space Sector 1760, former host of the Ion Entity. He's also prophesied as the Greatest of All the Green Lantern Corps. In the future Sodam has been shown to be the last surviving member of the Green Lantern Corps.
Sodam Yat grew up on the planet Daxam with his father and mother. Daxam is a planet whose inhabitants are quite isolationist minded. This was difficult for Sodam, who was interested in space and life beyond his planet. This also brought him into conflict with his parents. This came to a head when he was about eight years old and found a crashed alien. He nursed it back to health and the two became close friends. When his parents found out, they had the alien killed and put Sodam through conditioning to help him get over his fascination with space. This worked until his class took a trip the museum, where Sodam saw his friend stuffed and propped up in a model attacking a Daxamite. From then on, though he continued to play the good son for his parents, he spent his weekends rebuilding his friends ship. The day that he was preparing to launch and leave Daxam behind was the day he entered the Green Lantern Corps.
Sodam then went to basic training on Oa under Kilowog. During his training Sodam did nothing that truly set him apart from the other rookies, or pointed towards his ultimate destiny or potential. In fact, he even proved to be kind of a klutz. Sodam at first had some problems with flying. He accidentally crossed flight paths with some of the veterans, messing up formation; and on another occasion he knocked into one of his fellow trainee's during a sparring simulation. Yet Yat continued working to become a powerful Green Lantern. He was still unaware of what the future held in store for him.
When the Sinestro Corps War broke out, Sodam was among the rookie members chosen to accompany Kilowog to defend Mogo . He and the other Rookie Lanterns were gathered on Oa to be briefed on the current status of the War. Kilowog informed Sodam and the others of the current status of the Corps and of the actions of the Earth Lanterns. He then explained to them that they would be traveling to Mogo to defend it against a recent incursion of the enemy Sinestro Corps. Finding himself standing with Veterans during the briefing, he ended up talking with Arisia.
When she asked if he was ready he responded that he had better be, before walking away to prepare. Salaak, aware of Sodam's part in the future, ordered Lantern Arisia to stick close to him. Sodam followed the rest of the lanterns as they left Oa and headed for Mogo following right behind Mogo. Sodam stayed close to Kilowog and the other veterans during their short trip to Mogo gathering information. Wandering what would happen if they were to fail he asked Arisia, who then explained Mogo's importance to the corps and the role he played guiding the rings to new bearers. Understanding the stakes being played for, Sodam charged into battle with a vengeance.
Sodam was one of the first Lanterns into battle against the forces of the Sinestro Corps. Fighting side by side with the veterans he manages to take out multiple Sinestros - surprised at the ease - though Arisia admonishes him about treating the situation so carelessly. Sodam continues to fight on, concentrating on the enemy. When Arisia is distracted by Salaak's inquiry into Yat's health she leaves herself open to an attack from a scorpion-like Sinestro.
Sodam is able to effortlessly shoot it off her shoulder, a shot that even manages to impress veterans Vath and Isamot. Sodam and the other veterans fight their way to Mogo's surface and to Kilowog's side. Seeing the effect of the repulsor rays of Ranx on Mogo, Kilowog decides to send Sodam, along with Isamot, Stel and others to deal with the sentient city. Arisia protests, because of her orders from Salaak, but Kilowog overrules her and sends the rookie with the others to put a stop to Ranx's attack.
During their infiltration of Ranx, Yat begins to show his potential. Taking charge, he leads the Lanterns into the Sentient City, prompting Isamot to question who put him in charge, though Stel defends him and his tactics as sound. When the Sinestros locate and assault the Lanterns, Sodam again takes charge. Forming a shield wall with the other Lanterns, he manages to notice the data cables on the walls; suggesting that they follow them deeper into Ranx to find his core. During their journey the Lanterns find a torture chamber. While they explore they manage to garner Ranx's attention.
Hearing about his earlier encounter with Honour Lantern Gardner, Sodam mocks the city while defending himself. Taking the initiative Sodam, goes ahead of the Lantern group to scout out their path. During this sojourn Mogo reaches out to talk to him, conveying the orders of the Guardians to leave the battle. He also explained to Yat about the prophecy regarding the two of them, and the future of the Corps. Yat refused to be cowed by superstition and chose to stay in the battle and fight.
As he's distracted by his conversation with Mogo a contingent of Sinestros locate him and attack. To Arisia's surprise (she had followed him to finish her task of watching over him), he survived without a scratch. Rendezvousing with the other Lanterns, they soon realize that Ranx is in fact overloading his gravity repulsors. Arriving in the center of Ranx , Sodam and his allies engage Enkafos and his Sinestros as they attempt to destroy Ranx. Just as Enkanfos kills Lantern Cythos, mocking the Lanterns about their useless rings, the first of the new Laws takes effect. Across the Universe the power rings of the Green Lanterns inform them; Lethal Force has been enabled.
Sodam immediately seizes the chance to avenge his friend, making Enkafos one of the first Sinestro casualties of the war. Realizing the danger to his fellow lanterns in destroying Ranx, a fully confident Sodam elects to remain behind to do it himself. After assuring Arisia of his intention to survive, he waits for them to leave before overloading Ranx's disruptors and causing the city's demise. Arisia and the others are worried that he couldn't have survived, when Sodam then manages to fly over to the waiting group. While his uniform is in tatters, he is fine. They then prepare to return to defend Oa, before Salaak receives a disturbing transmission.
When Hal Jordan contacted Salaak to inform him that the Sinestro Corps target was in fact Earth, Sodam traveled with his fellow Lanterns to turn back their assault. Upon their arrival into Earth's space Sodam worked alongside Kilowog and Vath Sarn to defend Salaak, giving him time to assess the situation and assign target areas to the Lanterns and coordinate their efforts against the Sinestros. Sodam was impatient to face the soldiers of fear. Salaak assigned him and other Lanterns present to defend Mt. Rushmore, where numerous members of the Sinestro Corps were massing. They arrived just in time to defend Guy Gardner who was about to be overwhelmed. During the confrontation Sodam met Guy Gardner for the first time (whom Sodam views as a hero), and managed to impress him when his feats on Ranx were shared.
As Guy left to finish his mission, Sodam and the others returned their attention to the Sinestros. When Salaak ordered the Lanterns to New York for the final assault Sodam once more took the initiative to lead his fellow Lanterns to the battle. A fact noted by a resentful Boodikka, just as Graf Toren notes that while he assumes, they follow. Sodam and the rest of the corps rendezvous with Salaak, awaiting the final assault of the Sinestro Corps.
When the Anti-Monitor and Sinestro land in New York, Sodam launches and attack supported by Soranik Natu and two rookies. While Soranik and the rookies are both put down by the Anti-Monitor's first assault, Sodam rises to face him again. He is put down again and badly damaged from a second blast from the Anti-Monitor. Just as his ring deems him a lost cause and prepares to search out a new bearer, the Sun rises and his Daxamite genes kick in. Sodam rises a third time, and as the Anti-Monitor prepares to attack him again, the Guardians arrive to intervene.
Sodam Yat was chosen to be upgraded to the status of Ion after Kyle Rayner had been infected by Parallax, and due to his acts of courage and valor during the war in addition to his potential as a Daxamite. The Green Lantern Corps were able to retrieve the Ion power allowing the Guardians of the Universe to then bestow it upon Sodam Yat. After the transformation, he was immediately engaged in combat with Superman-Prime.
The newly appointed Ion fought Prime blow for blow until he crashed into a nuclear power plant made of lead. Yat was still not used to the Ion powers or the gifts the yellow sun gave him. After Prime impaled him with a rod, Yat realized that lead was one of his weaknesses. He immediately retreated and flew from the plant. However, his opponent was not far behind. Prime impaled Ion again from behind and they crash landed in a cemetery.
Yat was beginning to understand that he needed to use all the powers he could to defeat Prime, even if it meant killing him. Yat managed to slam Prime against a tree using a tombstone. Superman-Prime quickly countered this and Ion was relentlessly beaten on by the Kryptonian villain. Yat was knocked out and carried into the air by Prime. Lucky for him, help was on the way.
Yat was injured for the remainder of the battle. He is later seen training on Oa with other Green Lanterns when Kyle Rayner comes and gives him a few tips on being Ion. Alex Nero appears and attacks them. Yat shows great potential when he outsmarts Nero and stops him. Yat explains that he can't take off the ring or the lead poisoning from the battle with Prime will spread.
Sodam is next seen in sector 2814, using the last of his shore leave. He is in reminiscing on his battle with Prime, in front of our sun. While he’s recharging his ring notifies him that his presence is required on Oa, an he eagerly heads back. Upon Sodam’s return to Oa he heads to the Guardians Citadel. There he waits for all the lanterns who have been summoned to arrive, while passing the time talking to Bzzd. When the final lantern, Gardner, arrives the assembled lanterns including Rayner, Arisia, Soranik, Iolande, Vath, Isamot, and Stel enter into the Guardians' Chamber.
It is there that the Guardians reveal the reason for the summons. A number of Sinestro Corps rings have plunged into the uncharted Vega System, and fallen off of the radar. It is because of their exemplary service during the war these Lanterns have been chosen by the Guardians to retrieve them. Sodam is quick to bring up the ban forbidding Lanterns to enter the Vega system, prompting the Guardians and Gardner to note that some rules need to be broken. He also questions why they don’t just hit the source of the rings, and keep them from being produced. A plan that Vath and Isamot, both former soldiers, seem to agree with, though the Guardians do not, restating the plan and dismissing them with the message, “Do your duty, Lanterns.”
Sodam and the rest of the team head to the Vega system. Upon arrival Kyle and Guy order them to split up, giving times for mission updates and a rendezvous point. Sodam is partnered with Arisia again. While they search for the rings he asks for her opinion on how he’s been doing as Ion. It’s revealed that not only was Arisia was considered first choice for Ion, but that she’s also been asked to evaluate Sodam. So he asks her for her opinion on where he can improve, but they are interrupted by a captured Sinestro Soldier, and the signature of another ring.
Sodam and Arisia follow the signature down to the planet Sedas, and to a maximum security penal institution for the criminally insane. They find the hospital to be a graveyard. Every inhabitant of the hospital has been murdered. Sodam and Arisia notice a difference in the ring blasts, one being messy and random, while the other is far more precise. Just as their rings warn that “Glaring distortion/disruption levels detected between rings and host—shields affected” and recommends departure, Sodam and Arisia are attacked.
When we see Sodam and Arisia next they have been captured by Duel, the Sinestro responsible for the hospital massacre, and Mongul. While the others begin searching for them, Sodam and Arisia are subjected to the black mercy. Mongul’s black mercy’s have been altered to show fears. In his fears Sodam is beset on all sides by darkness, his ring is cut off and being assaulted by different colored rings. Sodam and Arisia are allowed to sink into the planet by Mongul when he leaves. They are found and rescued by the others. Just before Soranik, who treated his injuries after the war, can take them back to Oa they are attacked by Mother Mercy.
As the Lanterns are forced to defend themselves against Mother Mercy, Lantern Bzzd watches over the still unconscious Sodam and Arisia. While the other Lanterns are fighting around them Soranik attempts to revive Sodam and Arisia. Just as she fears that they will be sucked under by the planets gravity again, Sodam awakens. He asks Soranik to throw him at their assailant. Soranik hesitates, but after receiving confirmation from Kyle, works with Stel to deposit Sodam into the stomach of the creature. Once their Sodam, while still under attack from the Mercy plant, unleashes a devastating blast that severely injured Mother Mercy and allows his companions the chance to recover.
Instead of renewing the assault on Mother Mercy, Soranik convinces the other Lanterns to speak to her. To show her apology Mother Mercy removes her children from Sodam and Arisia’s chests. While Sodam is fine, Arisia is furious. She almost attacks Mother Mercy in her despair but, in a touching personal moment, Sodam manages to talk her down. Afterwards the Lanterns converse with Mother Mercy, listening as she explains how she came to inhabit her planet and her original intention for her children. Just as she finishes her story and the Lanterns are preparing to go after Mongul, he manages to ambush them, blasting all the Lanterns with Mercies.
After threatening Mother Mercy, Mongul leaves. Under direction from Duel, one of whom Mongul left behind, Mother Mercy appears to begin digesting the Lanterns. In actuality she waits and then frees them of their Mercies. Sodam and his companions waste no time dispatching of both Duels as they race into space to finish off Mongul. Working together they drive Mongul to the local moon, where a major battle ensues. Using his mastery of his new rings Mongul is able to stalemate them for a time, but while they are fighting him Lantern Bzzd manages to enter Mongul’s body and unleash a burst of energy. Sodam and the others then blast him back into Mercies orbit, where Mother Mercy begins to digest him.
Sodam and the others gather around Lantern Bzzd who quickly dies from his injuries. The Lanterns take a moment to grieve the loss of their comrade. They then return to Mercy, only to find that Mother Mercy has been chosen by the rings of both fallen Lantern Bzzd, and the Sinestro Corpsmen Duel. When she chooses the Lantern ring over the Yellow symbol of fear, Sodam captures the ring, sending it back to Salaak on Oa. The Lanterns then return to Oa, escorting Lantern Bzzd home.
After returning to Oa, Sodam and the others are given a respite period to recover from their mission. Sodam is then summoned by the Guardians to come to the Citadel. Upon arriving he meets Arisia who was also summoned, they are then informed to wait for Honor Lantern Gardner before going in to meet the Guardians. After Gardner arrives they go into meet with the Gaurdians; whom explain the situation with the Zamarons. They then inform the Lanterns of their mission, to escort the Guardians on a diplomatic mission to Zamaron. Along with Guy and Arisia, Sodam escorts three Guardians, two females, one male, one of the female guardians being Scar. Along with Guy and Arisia, Sodam escorts these Guardians to the planet Zamaron located in Sector 1416l, the Guardians having already contacted the Zamarons to request a diplomatic meeting. Upon their arrival the Guardians brief the Lanterns on their mission, Scar requesting they take special care to take notice of everything, and the male Guardian telling Gardner to keep tactical notes. Upon Gardner's quirk about it being a spy mission, the Guardians coldly reply that every diplomatic mission, is also a spy mission. Just as they finish discussing this, their escort arrives to lead them to the planets surface.
Their three Zamaron guides lead them to the surface, they are brought to a waiting area. Surrounded by cells holding the captured rings of Sinestro Corps members sucking them dry, Sodam and Guy converse about the clear message being sent. Sodam notes that the Zamarons are flaunting the fact they were able to capture the rings, and also that it could just as easily be Lantern rings in the cells. The male Guardian reprimands them for speaking their observations aloud, ordering them to remain silent unless spoken to.
Taking the opportunity given by the wait, Scar informs Sodam of his secondary mission. He was brought along as a fail-safe, if the talks do not go well or hostilities begin, he is to tap into the extremes of the Ion power and lay waste to the Zamaron Power Battery, and as much of the population as he can before he is stopped, or returns to Oa. They are interrupted by the arrival of the Zamaronian Queen.
Sodam stood by along with his fellow Lanterns as the Guardians and Queen Aga'po. The conversation became mobile as the Zamarons showed off their palace to their visitors while the two delegations continued to talk politics. Though the opening moments were full of pleasantries Sodam watched as the Guardians and the Queen fell into the same debate they'd had on Oa eons ago
As the argument intensified, Sodam stood at the ready in opposition to the Queen's own guards. As Honor Guard Gardner defused the situation Sodam went back to simply watching. Unlike his fellows he held his tongue as the Zamarons showed off the Sinestro Corps members captured by their Star Sapphires. The meeting ended in a stand off, with the Zamarons refusing to stop their gathering of power. With nothing more to discuss, Sodam and his fellow Lanterns escorted the Guardians back to Oa. His mission over, he and Arisia returned to hunting Sinestros.
When the New God Orion, God of War, was murdered on Earth the Guardians were immediately notified by the rings of their Lanterns in sector 2814. Sending their Alpha Lanterns to help in the investigation, they also notified Sodam Yat in his capacity as their personal agent, Ion. Sodam having recently returned from a diplomatic mission with a few of the Guardians to Oa wasn't sent to Earth as well. Sodam continued his part in the War of Light while events played out on Earth.
When the Prodigal Lantern, Hal Jordan, was accused of the murder, Sodam was one of the Lanterns notified. Returning to Oa with his partner Arisia, he was present for the trial of Lantern Jordan. Placed in the front row, nearest the Guardians, Sodam watched as Jordan was interrogated by the Alphas and their case was made. He watched as Kraken, a denizen of Apokolips herself, accused Jordan of playing host to one of that worlds fallen dark Gods.
He was as surprised as the rest of those assembled when Honor Lanterns Kyle and Guy interrupted the proceedings. Relating their own trip to Earth, and the evidence they gathered they proposed that it was Kraken who was under the influence of the New Gods. Sodam was taken by surprise, as while in the middle of refuting their claims, Kraken launched an assault against the Honor Guard. As the Guardian's called for her to be stopped, she turned her power against them and managed to wound one of the immortals.
Distracted by the Guardians injuries, Sodam was unable to act in time. He watched as Hal Jordan came to the Corps defense, easily defeating the Alpha Lantern even without his ring. Listening as the other Earth lanterns filled Jordan in, he agreed with Hal's plan to take the fight to Darkseid on Earth. Sodam was one of the Lanterns who volunteered to accompany them, though admitedly most of the Lanterns present joined them on their mission.
Flying to Earth, they were unsure of how to handle the Doomsday Singularity caused by Darkseid's fall. Following Jordan's advice they powered down to only their shields and allowed themselves to be dragged into the sink hole. Gardner began to worry if they would ever reach Earth, complaining that they didn't seem to be getting any closer. The Corps traveled on, though their rings were beginning to weaken, a problem Sodam didn't have. Sodam traveled quietly, determined they would make it. When weird creatures started appearing alongside them, Jordan realized they would make it possible to reach the planet, he began to lead the Corps in the Oath.
Sodam stood beside the Corps as they were suddenly summoned by the Monitor Nix Uotan, Judge of All Evil. As one of the defenses of the Multiverse, Sodam and the Corps stood alongside the Supermen of the Multiverse, Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew, the Pax Dei and the Forever People of 5th World. As the Corps attempted to use their rings against Mandrakk the Dark Monitor, Sodam noticed they weren't able to affect him, not equipped for the task. He and the Corps once more followed Jordan, working together to put a stake through his heart. Sodam and the Corps, with the Supermen's help, put Earth back, repairing the damage to the Multiverse. They then returned to Oa.
With his return to Oa, Sodam and his partner Arisia returned to normal active Lantern duty. They spent the next few weeks embroiled in the conflicts with other corps, mostly tracking down Sinestros. While he was out doing his duty, happenings in Sector 2814 drew the Guardians attention on Oa. The once nearly extinct people of Krypton had been saved from their fate by the last of their sons - Kal-El, or Superman of Earth. The Guardians, whose long memories recalled the time of the Kryptonian Empire, decided that their Officer Hal Jordan should be dispatched. Yet they were unsure if he would be enough.
Deciding to err on the side of caution, the Guardians recalled Sodam from his search back to Oa. Sodam listened as the Guardians explained the situation to him, though the Earth Lanterns were already aware. Ready to work with the "Great Hal Jordan", Sodam headed to sector 2814. During the trip he was able to talk with both Hal and John.
Upon arrival to New Krypton, Hal had them search for Kal-El. Finding him they headed to rendezvous, counting on Jordan and John's past with him to help. They were surprised to find him in conflict with another soldier, but before they were able to lend a hand, Commander El put his opponent down. Following Jordan's lead, Sodam prepared to speak with the Kryptonians.
Following Jordan's lead, Sodam held back as the two Earth lanterns teased their friend about his victory. When General Zod questioned Kal and the Lanterns about their prescence, Sodam allowed Hal to deal with him. Standing back from the group he listened as Jordan and Zod had their verbal sparring match. When Zod suggested that Kal and Tyr-Van show the Lanterns around he had no objections.
Following Tyr into the city, Sodam listened in the background while taking in the sights of Kandor. He listened as Tyr explained the multiguild aspects of the city, taking in the people and there dress. Yet, while John spoke to Tyr about both the the cities guilds and ethnicities, Sodam kept his observations silent. Ready to move on, Sodam questioned Tyr about the planet. His buisness like manner drew Kal-El's attention. When the Commander commented on it, Sodam just claimed he was true to his people. He was surprised as Kal argued the point, citing his friend Mon-El and explaining that he was on Earth for him at the moment.
Flying into the upper atmosphere of the planet, Sodam and his fellow Lanterns listened as Tyr began to explain the process behind terraforming the planet. While Sodam did his best to pay attention, he found himself distracted by Kal's revelation. His distraction was obvious, and Kal noticed and caused him to question him on it. Sodam explained that he was still thinking about his friend Mon-El, and his surprise at learning one of his people was on Earth.
Sodam followed Tyr and the others down to an area of the planets surface already terraformed. Sodam, like the others, was taken in by what he saw. When John commented on Kal's palpable happiness, they were surprised as his name was called. As Lieutenant Nar dragged Kal away to see the General, Sodam and his fellow Corpsmen followed Tyr. Returning to the city, Tyr explained more of Kryptons culture and current status.
When Kal returned to the group, Sodam was as suprised as the earth Lanterns to hear about the prisoners from the Phantom Zone. They quickly agreed to help, and left with Kal-El to meet up with his squadron. Kal then led them to the site of the planned raid, in the shipyards. The Lanterns were suprised to find that New Krypton was, in fact, building a new armada of battleships. Sodam was just as unsettled as his partners to discover that Kal-El was as suprised as they were. Just as Kal was responding to their questions, an explosion shook the shipyards.
Racing to the site of the explosion, Sodam was suprised to find an explosion of Kryptonian Crystal. Sodam listened as Kal questioned on of the soldiers about the cause of the explosion. While Kal learned about the fugitives plan to get a fast cruiser, John questioned the civilians about their wellbeing. Once they and his ring confirmed they were ok, John asked which way the criminal had fled. Kal interrupted him, telling everyone to listen. When they replied they couldn't hear anything, Kal explained that his team should be able too. As he walked them through it Sodam listened in as well. He was then, having more experience with his powers, the first one to pinpoint the sound. Sodam took of in pursuit, leading the others towards the Zoner.
As they chased after him, Jordan questioned Kal about the man they wanted. As Kal and his Lieutenant explained, the Lanterns' rings chimed in as well with Greyline's history. It was then Sodam and the others realized that they weren't just aiding Kal anymore, Greyline was wanted on Oa. Following him, they were forced to doge as he dropped a tower in their path. As Kal ordered his squad to circle around and attempt to cut him off, he and the Lanterns followed Greyline into the superstructure.
Catching up to him, Kal called out for him to halt. While John worked to catch a civilian he tossed their way, Sodam and Kal raced ahead. just as they caught up to him, Val-Ty used his powers and stolen power pack to create an explosion. Sodam and Kal were caught off guard, while Hal and John were able to raise their shields. When Nar contacted Kal on his comlink, Sodam and the others used their rings to listen in. They all overheard Zod's order, and Kal countermand it.
Working together to draw his fire, they were able to distract him while Kal's Red Shard Squadron cut him off. Sodam watched as they used their Lancers to steal Greylines powers. Non caught the powerless Zoner out of the air. As he held him up to Nar, Sodam and the other prepared to intervene themselves, but as Nar placed him under arrest set about to aid. While John and Sodam put him in restraints, Kal explained the time-limit he'd be powerless to Hal. While the Lanterns prepared to take the prisoner to Oa, General Zod arrived.
Sodam stood back as the General and Jordan entered another arguement. Ready to back up his partners, he listened as John difused the situation and Zod promised to give the prisoner over to Oa. Sodam left with John and Hal to return to Oa. Upon his return to Oa, Sodam was debreifed with the Guardians over his findings on New Krypton. After he was finished he went back to working with his partner Arisia, hunting for rogue Sinestro Corpsmen.
Yet Sodam was unable to stop thinking about what Kal-El had said about a Daxamite on Earth. Wondering what had led to another Daxamite leaving their planet, and if he was up-to date on everything going on there Sodam decided to return to Earth. Before he did though, he gathered Knowledge Crystals so he could make sure Mon-El was aware of the real history of Daxam. Informing his partner Arisia of his plans, Sodam left for Earth.
Arriving in Earth's atmosphere, Sodam was suprised when a voice in his head asked him to stop. Turning, he answered to his name mentioning it was only one of many he answered too. The alien, Tellos, noted that he knew them all Green Lantern and Ion included. Calling himself Sodam's friend Tellus asked him to stop. Sodam was quick to note that Tellus was using the friend term far looser than he himself would, though he was suprised by his sudden trust in him.
Sodam asks him what it is he wants, and Tellus explains that he knows why Sodam is there. Explaining he understands his mission to seek out Mon-El, Tellus asks Sodam to listen to his plea. When Sodam aquisces, he asks him not to seek out Mon-El. When Sodam questions him as to why he shouldn't do so, Tellus explains that he is from the future, and that if Sodam meets Mon-El today... he creates a possible future where evil wins.
Sodam believes Tellus, but is torn by his desire to see and speak with a fellow Daxamite. Yet in the end, the same personality that makes Sodam a Green Lantern helped to inform his decision. Sodam tells Tellus that he will respect his request, and turn back for Oa on a single condition. When Tellus says anything, Sodam asks him if Mon-El is aware of the situation on Daxam. As Tellus answers honestly the he doesn't know, Sodam gives him the history containing Crystals. Sodam asks that Tellus make sure Mon-El recieve them, and that if he does this then will truly be Sodam's friend, and Sodam never forgets his friends. With Tellus assuring him that he will make sure he gets it, Sodam returned to Oa, and the War of Light.
They soon became embroiled in a chase with Sinestro Corps member Imecsub. They managed to track him down near sector 2816, taking him to the nearest Sector house in 2815. As they placed him in the temporary sciencell they had to listen as he bragged about his brilliance, causing disbelief to both Sodam and Arisia.
As the criminal waxed on about letting them capture him, Sodam played along asking if he was "Keeping his friends close, and his enemies closer" getting a lengthy response. Just as Arisia joined the fun, making a joke at the prisoner's expense, a spaceship crashed into the Sector House. Stunned, Sodam watched as his mother half fell out of the craft he'd built during his youth, calling his name.
Stunned, Sodam stood by as his mother described the situation on his home world to Arisia. When Sodam's mother expressed her belief Sodam should return to Daxam and fend off the attack, he could only scoff at her. He surprised Arisia and his his mother both by stating that his father and mother were wrong about his desire to help them. When Arisia questioned them on it, Sodam lashed out in anger. Yelling at his mother he explained to Arisa about what his parents had done to him in his youth.
Arguing with his mother, Sodam let loose the frustration he had kept bottled up for years. As his mother defended his people he argued that perhaps this was fate. Sodam railed against his mother for her actions during his childhood. As his mother defended herself Sodam laid into her yet again, citing that it was Daxam's own fault it had no allies to call upon when they finally got the aliens they deserved.
Sodam's mother slapped him, and turning his back he walked away from her. When his mother broke down, stating her fear of Mongul, Sodam finally began to relent. Having his mother describe the alien to him, he realized that somehow the warlord had survived. With it revealed that it was the Sinestro Corps attacking Daxam, Sodam found himself between a rock and a hard place. Taking advantage of the moment he explained to his mother that the craft she'd used to escape used to belong to Tessog. Forcing her to face the reality that the alien she'd killed had saved her life, Sodam forced her to thank a hard-light construct of his friend.
Leaving the Sector House, Sodam used his ring to send his mother back to Oa. When she protested he explained that he was on his way to Daxam to deal with the situation. When questioned on his actions by Arisia he explained his loyalty to the Oath he'd taken. Sending his mother off, he and Arisia discussed tactics. Sodam decided to head to Daxam for recon before calling in backup. When Arisia questioned him, he explained how he felt responsible for not putting an end to Mongul before. Having convinced her, they set off to Daxam.
As they travelled to Daxam, Arisia decided to question Sodam abuot their mission to Zamaron. Pointing out when a Guardian had pulled him aside and his response to it, she asked what was said. Sodam didn't have a problem sharing what happened with his partner. Explaining that the Guardian, Scar, had ordered him to tap into the Ion power and decimate each and every Zamaron if the situation went south. Arisia acted with suprise at the order, and even more so at Sodam's willingness to execute it if the need had arisen.
Stopping as their rings warned them of their immenent arrival at Daxam, Sodam and Arisia both created binoculars to see the planet. While Arisia was suprised by the new "ring" around Daxam, it was Sodam who realized that it was in fact a Sinestro Corps sentry. Noticing that it was eating or destroying everthing in Daxam's orbit, Sodam used his experience to come up with a plan. Explaining his fascination with astronomy as a child to Arisia, he pointed out the many Meteorites that often fell into Daxam's atmosphere. Grabbing hold of such a rock, they were able to ride it to the planets surface without discovery.
Following his ring to his father, Sodam arrived just as they had begun to leap to their deaths from the cliffs to escape Arkillo's team of Corpsmen. Cutting loose, Sodam easily slaughtered all the Sinestro Corpsmen. As he swooped in, cutting them down with his Heat Vision, his ring caught his attention. Having used up the last of his Solar reserves, his Daxamite biology would return to normal under the light of his planet's red sun. Sodam decapitated the last Sinestro with his ring, saying it was just him, the ring, and a whole lot of Ion.
Helping Arisia save the last few Daxamites to have jumped, he was caught off guard by her dissaproval of his methods with the Sinestros. She confronted him with the morality of killing their foes. Sodam, having a warriors mentality replied that they wouldn't be able to ever menace another innocent and for him it was as simple as that. Catching an old woman he flew them back to the caves where his people had hidden.
Sodam introduced himself and Arisia to the suprise people, introducing themselves and explaining how they had heard of the situation, before his father interrupted him. Sodam faced his father as he greeted him. As the Daxamites realized that he was the Senator's son they began to crowd him, seeing his arrival as a blessing from Rao.
Sodam used his powers to blind everyone and push them back, asking them to calm down. He then began explaining that his arrival was no blessing, and he hadn't come to help them simply because they were Daxamites. He explained the Green Lanterns creed to help whomever and wherever they could. His speech managed to inspire a few of the children who proclaimed they wanted to be like him when they grew up.
Sodam's father interrupted him, explaining that they would have time to deal with his feelings and mend fences. Sodam responded with skeptism, calling both his parents delusional about his desire to fix things with them. As his father continued talking, Sodam lost his temper, grabbing his father by his robes he hoisted him over the cliff. As Sodam held him there he questioned him about the future of the people he'd encouraged to jump off the cliffs. To his father's pleas and excuses, Sodam replied that their was only one solution to their plight. They fight, and fight to victory, or their is simply nothing left.
Sodam would spend the next several days on Daxam attempting to figure out how to save the planet. When he and Arisia called for back-up they were informed of the Oan prison riot, which would soon spread to the entire planet. With the majority of their fellow corpsmen either fighting on Oa or in the Vega system alongside the Guardians, they realized they were on there own. Doing reconisiance they watched as more Sinestro Corpsmen flooded in by the day, until they numbered over 400 strong. They also watched as Mongul began building a defense system to help him safe-guard the planet against assault.
Realizing that something had to be done, Sodam decided to take out Mongul. Arisia disagreed with him, yet Sodam explained that in the current situation it was their only chance. He beleived the choas caused by a headshot then, would allow them to contain the situation until help could arrive. Arisia continued to argue that he may not be up to it, especially having lost the advantage of his Daxamite heritage due to the planets red sun. Yet Sodam beleived that armed with his GL ring and the Ion Power he would be more than a match for Mongul. Leaving Arisia to lead his people into safety, he left to confront Mongul.
Catching Mongul off-guard Sodam slammed into him, encasing himself in a construct of armor to make up the difference in physical strength. He rammed Mongul into the statue of himself he had forced Daxamite artisians to build. Mongul was able to recover, recognizing Sodam and openly goading him about his failure on Mercy's planet. Changing into his battle garb, Mongul let loose a stampede with his ring, attemptin to slam Sodam off the statue. Holding his ground, Sodam blasted Mongul through his statues head, destroying it.
Launching himself at Mongul while he recovered, Sodam then requested access to the Ion power, attempting to capitalize on his uppper hand in the fight. Yet he was suprised when his ring denied him access citing interferance from a Guardian. Unknown to Ion, Scar, the same Guardian responsible for the Oan riot was using his ring to block the power of Ion. In an attempt to further the plans of the unkown master she now served, she was attempting to deprive the Green Lantern Corps of a powerful asset. The Sinestro Corpsmen came to their leader aid, but where suprised when Mongul ordered them to back off.
Trading energy blasts with Mongul, Sodam questioned his ring on how he could access the Ion power. He was suprised to find that he would have to remove his ring to do so. His ring wasted no time in uncessarily reminding him of it's function to stop the lethal amounts of lead in his system since his fight with Superboy-Prime. Asking if their was any other way to access the power, Sodam was informed by his ring that a massive power surge may allow him access for a limited amount of time, though at what level would be unkown.
As Mongul prepared to continue their battle, Sodam ordered his ring to drop all shielding. The ring and Arisia, who was still in contact with Sodam, both protested his plan. Sodam attempted to calm Arisia, informing her that they would simply have to revert to plan B, which she was unaware of. As Mongul congratulated him on having the good sense to surrender, he let loose with all 6 of his rings, blasting Sodam straight down through his statue. As Mongul prepared to leave, thinking the battle over, the Ion symbiot began healing its host. His connection with the Ion symbiote restored, Sodam launched himself into the sky to the suprise of his foes.
As he flew skyward, Mongul ordered his Corps after him. Questioning his ring on the success of his plan, Sodam was informed that he was only operating at 95% strength and failing. As he left the planets atmosphere, Sodam effortlessly killed 5 Sinestro's before coming to the planets sentry. As the snake attempted to swallow him, Sodam simply blasted his way through it's mouth and out of the back of it's skull. Mongul raced after him, attempting to catch up.
Reaching the solar systems star, Sodam opened up communications with Arisia again. He began explaining to her that the levels of the Ion power were failing, and that taking off his ring was the only way to keep the Guardians from stopping him. Though Arisia tried to convince him, Sodam took his ring off regardless.
Stating "The Needs of the Many" he allowed his ring to fly away. Telling his partner to keep them fighting, Sodam flew into the sun. Opening himself up to the Ion power he let loose a massive blast of energy starting a chain reaction in Daxam's sun and began using his power to attempt to change the sun from red, to yellow.
While Sodam was in the heart of Daxam's son, the Ion power allowed him a unique experience. Sodam was given a glimpse into the inner workings of the Universe itself. While he concentrated, he could feel the emotions of the cosmos as it was at that momment. As the red sun tore at his body, the Universe thanked Sodam for giving one of it's world's a fighting chance.
Sodam happily replied that no thanks were neccessary. As Sodam prepared to die he spoke not only to the universe, but to himself. I am Sodam Yat, Green Lantern of Sector 1760. I was born under the red sun of Daxam, and I am proud to die inside it. With that, Sodam apparently sacrificed himself to save his world. After blackest night in brightest day a mysterious figure took the power of ion from sodam inside the daxam sun plummitng him down to daxam and turning the yellow sun to red and takeing away the daxam's population powers.
Sodam was thought to have perished during the Legion’s time, his battle with Superboy-Prime was featured in the Superman museum. When Rond Vidar perished at Prime’s hands, his ring attempted to scan the sector for a replacement Lantern. In the end it gave up, heading back to a now desolate Oa, where Sodam snatched it from the air, lamenting the loss of Mogo. When Mon-El returned Vidar’s body to Oa, Sodam demanded to know who would dare disturb the resting place of the Lantern Corps. After Mon-El explained the situations Sodam stated his unwillingness to help, and when questioned about his identity revealed himself in a flash of Emerald power, as the last of the Guardians of the Universe.
Gathering his power Sodam stood over the corpse of Rond Vidar, last of the Green Lanterns. He used his power to convert him into pure energy, he explained to Mon-El and Shadow Lass his only solace in this moment, that this would be the last time he had to "bury" an Officer of the Corps. With a final blessing, Sodam dispersed Rond, now pure willpower, into the spectrum. He continued lamenting on how Rond reminded him of Kyle Rayner, a Lantern he'd known long ago. He explained that Kyle had given him the title of Torchbearer with his death, and that even though the Corps was lost he would honor that by guarding Oa.
Shadow Lass confronted Sodam about why the rings were not simply sent to new wielders. With the death of Mogo, they had no-one to guide them as Sodam felt that his own soul was too corrupted to do so correctly. Mon-El was un-detered, asking once more for Sodam to join their war against Superboy-Prime and his legion as a way for Sodam to atone. Sodam remembers Prime and what he did to him well, but even that isn't enough to get him to join their cause.
Sodam was unmoved, he was weary from years of watching all those he had cared for die, as the Ion power kept him young and ageless as the Guardians once were. He turns away from the Legionaires, knowing they wouldn't understand. He is suprised when Mon-El confides in him about the 1,000 years he spent in the Phantom Zone with only glimpses of the outside world as all those important to him perished. He understood Sodam's pain, yet still urged him to stand and fight. Shadow Lass agreed with him, questioning Sodam about the Lantern's rumered requirement of being born without fear.
That, along with Mon-El's prompting causes Sodam to realize the mistake he has made. He explains that Green Lantern's were never born without fear, but able to overcome it. He realizes that he has been afraid of himself all this time, and afraid of losing anymore people. Sodam gathered his power, begging Oa for forgivenes for his inaction.
Reciting his Oath, Sodam drew power from both the Central Power Battery, and all the rings of the Corps, drawing every ambient bit of willpower avialable into himself. Sodam agrees to help in their war against Superboy-Prime. He also vows that the Green Lantern Corps will live again.
He then travels with Mon-El and Shadow Lass back to Earth. They arrive just momments after the rest of the Legionnaires arrive. Seeking out Prime, Sodam has no problem following his path of destruction. As he blasts his way through Legionaires, Sodam lassoed him with a chain construct. Prime recognized Sodam as he placed him under arrest for the multiple murders he commited against the Green Lantern Corps. Withe help from Mon-El he was able to hold him in place, as two of the Shadow Lasses present sapped the sunlight from his cells, weakening him. Yet Prime was able to break free of Sodam's chain with the added strength of his fear.
Sodam sought out to follow him, but was held up by the Legion of Villians that Prime had assembled. He began fighting his way through them, with Mon-El and the Legion at his side. Ironically, he was forced to face off against the Emerald Empress and her Eye of Ekron, a relic from one of the Green Lanterns of the 21st Century. He took care of the Eye while Shadow Lass faced off against her, as the battle continued to rage around them.
As the battle was going, Sodam and the Emerald Empress were both suprised to see Prime be blasted out of Legion headquarters. Remembering his past with Prime, Ion launched himself after the evil Kal-El, blasting him with his emerald willpower. Blasting Prime again, telling him to burn like his power. He held back as Bart and his cousin attacked Prime, backed up by the Superman and the Legions founders. As they dealt with Prime, Ion was drawn back into battle against the legion of villians present.
When Prime took off towards the north, Sodam led the charge of heroes who backed Kid Flash up, including his fellow daxamites in the respective Legions. They chased Prime all the way to the North Pole, managing to catch him a few miles from the location of Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Realizing what Prime was up to, Sodam created a helmet construct to disorient him. As he caught him, his rings activated the Lethal Force added to them in the 21st Century. With his fellow Daxamites for back-up, Sodam launched into another battle with Prime. Yet, like before, Prime was able to outmaneuver his oponents knocking them into the Fortress.
Ion and the other heroes were unconscious for a matter of momments, long enough for Wildfire and Dawnstar to revive Kon-El while Polar Boy and Sun Boy held Prime back. It took only a few minutes for the Legionnaires to gather themselves after shaking it off. Taking to the skies, Sodam led the other Legionnaires to Superboy's aid. Taking point, he coordinated with them as they blasted away at Prime while Kon-El pounded away at him. Standing side by side with Sun Boy, Sodam unleashed his power against Prime, unknowing as at the realm beyond time, the Time Trapper's identity was revealed to Superman and the founders.
Watching as Prime was confronted by Kon-El, Ion wasted no time taking advantage of his mommentary distraction to attack him. Gathering his will, Ion launched his assault. Reading Prime his rights, Ion directed his Green Lantern inspired construct army pounded away at him. While Prime was being attacked Sodam thanked him for showing him that the universe still needs a Green Lantern Corps. Ion and his Legionaire allies continued to pound away at Prime, folowing Superboy's lead. When Prime managed to break Wildfires armor in his attempt to attack Dawnstar, Ion was forced to react quickly. While his own Daxamite physiology allowed him to survive the blast, he was forced to create a shield to protect the Brainiac 5's and their other allies.
While Kon continued to to face off against Prime, even managing to injur him with his Heat Vision, Prime kept his allies shielded until Wildfire's suit could be repaired. Rejoining the battle with Prime, Sodam continued to blast away at him until Kal and the founder's plan interrupted the battle. Sodam watched along with the rest of his allies as the Time Trapper confronted his younger self. He watched as, isntead of joining with his elder self, Prime's own foolishness led to a confrontation that caused his own apparent demise. After helping the Legionaires deal with the rest of the Legion of Super-Villians, Sodam prepared to return to Oa.
In the aftermath of the Crisis, Sodam returned to Oa with Mon-El and Shadow Lass in tow. During the trip back, Sodam reflected on his experience with the Legion and the current status of the Corps. Speaking with Mon-El and Shadow Lass Sodam was able to open up about his experiences. He informed Mon-El that he had been right, Sodam needed to learn to trust himself again. Ion had needed to leave Oa, and be reminded of what it was he had served and protected in the first place. Between Rond's sacrafice, and his own recent experience he had truly realized the continued need for the Green Lantern Corps, and his responsibility to keep the Green light burning. Casting aside his doubts, Sodam took on Mogo's former duties as he had the Guardians and ordered the rings fo the Green Lantern Corps to scan the Universe once more. As the rings searched the many Sectors of space for sentinents, with Sector 2814's ring being one of the first to find one, Sodam prepared Oa for the rebirth of the Corps.
Brightest Day
While Sodam was still in Daxams sun keeping it yellow an unknown assailaint comes and removes the ION entity from Daxam turning the sun Red once more. Due to the fact that some of the Daxamites were in flight when this processes were occurred some were killed. Sodam crashes back on Daxam alive and was given a new Power Ring. Sodam is later rescued by other Daxamites who hailed him as their savior and built a church honoring his ideals. Sodams father however, Diro Yat, went on a rampage and ordered a search for Sodam so that he could be returned to their sun in order to restore their powers. Sodam Yat began a personal mission that he believed was a part of a "bigger picture" and states that the Universe needs to be made a better place and that the Guardians would pay for their sins. He lead his followers away in order for them to continue their mission in peace and creates a symbol that represents people all over the Universe. Shortly after, Sodam was attacked by Zardor who invaded his mind and forced him to attack Guy making him believe that he was one of the Guardians of the Universe. Guy was about to attempt to make a killing shot to Sodam while he was weakened but Arisa interrupted and this allowed Sodam and Zardor to escape with Bleez as their hostage.
Sodam Yat Green Lantern ION
Sodam Yat has been prophecied as one of the Greatest of all the Green Lantern Corps.
As well as having the powers of a Daxamite Sodam Yat is now a Green Lantern. Sodam is able to wield the powers of a Green Lantern Ring through willpower.
The abilities that a Green Lantern Ring give Sodam are:
Radiation: Besides light based radiation used to create the energy constructs associated with a Green Lantern, the ring can simulate various forms of radiation. One example of this is the ability to simulate the radiation of Green Kryptonite, a form of radiation that is harmful to Superman. However, this ability is no longer valid and has been retconned.
Time travel: The ring allows the wielder the ability to travel through time, though the process requires great willpower.
Mental Incapacitation: The ring cannot be wielded correctly if the wearer is under the influence of drugs or if there is an involvement of neural interference.
Yellow Impurity: In the beginning the Green Ring was vulnerable to the color yellow. It was unable to defend against attacks from wielders of the Sinestro Corps as well. This weakness however has now be changed and can be overcome by veterans who have the ability to overcome great fear. Sodam Yat has not been seen yet overcoming this weaknesses.
Recharge: Previously had to be recharged every 24 hours or when it has been depleted of energy. This can be accomplished if the bearer of the ring recites an oath into his power lantern while holding the ring to it. However now, the power ring only needs to be recharged when it runs out of energy. .
Red Lantern Corps. Bearers of the red ring have the ability to drain a Green Power Ring of its energy. The ring of a Blue Lantern however has the ability to charge a Green Lantern Ring or negate this negative effect. Blue Lanterns rings also have the ability to purge the negative effects that a Red Lanterns Ring can cause upon the wielder of a Green Lantern Ring.
Magic:
Daxamites are as vulnerable to magic as humans are. Sodams Rings constructs could provide him some protection against the ill effects of magic but it is unknown to what degree of protection they could give him
Red Sun Radiation:
Sodam Yat like all other Daxamites and his Kryptonians cousins are weakened when exposed to red solar energy. Sodam will lose his Daxamite abilities when exposed to Red Sun energy and must be recharged by yellow sun energy in order to regain his abilities.
Lead Poisoning:
After a battle that Sodam had during his encounter with Superboy Prime Sodam Yat was exposed to a lethal dose of lead. Daxamites are weakened against lead and even a small amount can result in their death. Sodams Green Lantern ring however is constantly purifying his blood so the lead poisoning does not kill him. If he were to remove it though he would die shortly. A cure for this weaknesses does exist as Mon-El has taken it (another Daxamite exposed to led).
(Previous Weaknesses)
Ability To Kill: One of the main weaknesses of the Power Rings that greatly disturbed Sinestro was the fact that the bearers of the Green Lantern Ring were unable to kill. Recently however, this restriction on the rings has been lifted but murder is still against the law of the GL Corps. This restriction was lifted by the Guardians of the Universe during the War of the Green Lanterns
As a Daxamite, Sodam possesses the ability to absorb the light and radiation of stars, specifically those in the yellow spectrum. His Daxamite body is constantly absorbing and storing energy from Earth's yellow sun, which in turn grants him incredible powers, such as superhuman strength, enhanced senses, impenetrable skin, and even the ability to defy gravity. His body is also able to absorb the radiation of a blue sun, this grants him increased strength and various other powers.
Sodam Yat has a strength that puts him on par with Kryptonians. Sodam has the ability to lift over 100 tons with minimal effort. Similar to Kryptonians when Sodam Yat is appearing to hold a great weight he is actually pushing against it with the bio-electric force field that encompasses his body. Sodam Yats strength can be compared to Supermans.
Due to Sodams Daxamite physiology has has an enhanced metabolism, muscular speed, and nervous system he has been granted a speed that is much greater compared to that of a human. He is able to see and avoid objects moving at incredible speeds and is also able to move faster than the human eye can perceive. He was able to clean a sink full of dirty dishes in moments and also run from New York to Paris in mere seconds. When his body is charged with solar energy he is able to avoid laser fire at point blank range. Sodam Yat is also able to see other beings moving at superhuman speeds and can constantly move at a superhuman rate but this drains his solar reserves very fast if he is not under a yellow star at the time.
Sodam is able to see over great distances and perceive even the smallest of objects. This vision also allows Sodam Yat to see through the atomic structure of an object. Though he is unable to see through lead. Sodams Heat vision has yet to be calculated but it could be comparable to that of Kryptonians which is almost as hot as the core of the Sun.
Sodam has the super human ability to hear all sounds at any volume or pitch.
Sodams Daxamite physiology allows him to work himself physically to peak for 14 days before fatigue toxins begin to impair him and his solar reserves become depleted. If however Sodam is under a star with a yellow spectrum he is constantly replenishing his solar reserves. When Sodam Yat is under a G type dwarf star with a yellow spectrum his solar energies are constantly being replenished. Although he will not lose his abilities due to being under this star at one point he still will require rest.
Due to his Daxamite physiology Sodam Yat has a bioelectric forcefield that protects his body from harm. His muscular tissue is much more dense than that of a normal human. He has been able to withstand a 1 mega-ton nuclear explosion and also a fight with Superboy-Prime during Blackest Night.
While Sodams body is charged with solar energy he is able to emit a gravitational field that enables him to defy gravity. Sodam has extreme mobility while he is in flight allowing him to fight, change course and also carry great weights. While in Earths atmosphere Sodam Yat is able to move at high Mach Speed and while in space he can move at near light speeds. Sodam Yat tends to avoid moving at FTL speeds while in a planets atmosphere so that he does not harm the area around him. Sodam Yat has been seen flying from the Earth to the moon in mere seconds.
Sodam has the ability to freeze his enemies using his breathe. He is able to control the temperature with which he expels this power.
Sodam Yat has the ability to suck in a large amount of air into his lungs and either hold it within him for a long period of time or create strons forces of wind with it.
Sodams Daxamite physiology allows him to live much longer than that of a normal human. Sodam has been seen in various instances as being the last Guardian of the Green Lantern Corps in the 31st Century.
Sodam has the ability to instantly recall events that he pays specific attention to or that hold great emotional significance to him. When he has absorbed solar energy he has the ability to solve problems with superhuman speeds.
Ion Empowerment: At one point Sodam had the ability to wield the power of the ION Entity. With the ability to wield the ION entity Sodam is able to use the abilities of the Green Lantern Power Ring on a much larger scale. When Sodam was empowered by ION he was given the sum total of the energies that the Guardians of the Universe possess. This changed how his abilities in turn were based upon to a more mystical nature as Sodam was raised to becoming one of the most powerful beings in existence. The limit as to what Sodam could do was never defined and was believed to be unlimited. He had the ability to bring back the dead, go back in time and also had so much power over the timeline he could isolate certain periods in time and erase them completely. As ION Sodam also had the ability to exist in multiple places and time periods at one time.
Time Manipulation: Sodam Yat with the ION power is able to control the passage of time. There was apparently no limit as to how far he could do this.
Reality Manipulation: Sodam Yat can alter reality on a much larger scale than we have seen other beings in the DC Universe. There was apparently no limit as to how far he could do this.
Reality Altering- As ION Sodam had the ability to alter reality on a wide scale. There was apparently no limit to this ability while Sodam was in possession of the ION entity.
Matter Manipulation- Sodam while in possession of the ION entity was able to alter matter on a wide scale. There was apparently no limit as to how far he could do this.
Immortal: ION is now a functioning immortal because of the fact that he is now the host to an emotional concept.
