Plot Summary
The Snake Goddess explains the birth of the Naga and how the English treasure hunters that become known as the 68 destroyed their followers and killed her mate. She tells the story of forcing the rebirth of the 68 and her vessel of destruction with each generation which will continue until she manages to kill all 68 within a single lifetime. She then speaks of how Jessica is different: she is a woman, not a girl as previous vessels have been, and that she is perfect.
Also included are a number of things from Harker's personal belongings including: a diary excerpt from a previous vessel named named April Manning that died in the '80s,a map of the 68 with a description of a few members,notes from a psychologist regarding someone he treated having an intense fear of snakes because of snake related nightmares, and a profile of snake woman candidate Jessica Peterson with highlights from her life.
