    Imperial Guard

Vril Rokk was a veteran of the Imperial Guard whom briefly fought the X-men wen the Imperial Guard was ordered to take them out by the mad emperor D'ken. However, when D'ken was dethroned and Empress Lilandra took his place, Smasher fought alongside the heroes on more then one occasion. He also fought in the so called Operation Galactic Storm, witch was a war between the Kree and the Shi'ar empires.

    Death

Vril Rokk met his demise at the hands of Casandra Nova after he tried to find help from the X-men. Casandra Nova had taken over the body of Charles Xavier and was out to destroy the Shi'ar Empress Lilandra. Smasher was send to earth, and although he did make it, his ship crashed. He however managed to warn some earthlings, unfortunately, these earthlings where cows, whom could not pass the message. Smasher died after this, believing to have fulfilled his mission.

After his death, Smasher was soon replaced with a newer recruit, Salac Tuur. Emperor Vulcan of the Shi'ar Empire sent Gladiator to capture Lilandra and bring her to him. When Gladiator captures her she begins to plea with him to let her live and not take her to Vulcan but the Imperial Guard, and especially the new Smasher, interjects her plea and demands that Gladiator does as the Emperor ordered and kill Lilandra and the others. Gladiator then apparently makes his choice and turns on the Guard and the Shi'ar, killing Smasher and thus saving Lilandra.

A new Smasher originating from earth has been recruited into the ranks of the Imperial Guard. This Smasher can be found here.

    Alternate Versions

    Age of Apocalypse

As in the regular Marvel 616 universe, Smasher was a member of the Imperial Guard in this alternate reality. Along with Gladiator and the rest of the Guard, he confronted Gambit and the X-Force, mistaking them for enemies when they teleported to the M'Kraan Crystal. With the help of Rictor, Smasher and the Guard attempted to capture the mutants, only to be killed by the M'Kraan's expanding crystal wave while Gambit and his team escaped.

    Powers

It is not known what alien race Smasher belongs to. Thanks to variable DNA, Smasher can adapt different powers for limited amounts of time, including super strength due to increased density, flight, super-sight, and x-ray vision.
