Midnight has no actual super powers but is a superb detective and hand to hand combatant. His vacuum gun fires a suction cup attached to a super strong cord which he can then reel in. The character is inspired in appearance, powers, and personality by Will Eisner's The Spirit.
While the first Jester had no super powers, rookie policeman Chuck Lane fought crime hand-to-hand. The Jester was a member of both the All-Star Squadron and the Freedom Fighters, and it was until after the war that his membership in the secret society called the Arcadians was revealed.

Marksman debuted in Smash Comics 33 in May 1942. He would not be seen in continuity again until an Elseworlds miniseries entitiled JLA Destiny. This series was a JLA created by Thomas Wayne, after his wife and son were murdered.
Tom Dalton was the Golden Age Magno, a hero with the ability to control electrical and magnetic current. Magno joined Uncle Sam's Freedom Fighters, and lost his life preventing an attack on Pearl Harbor.

Monster Man is a brutish enemy of Captain Tootsie.
Dr. Narsty is the nastiest man in the world and is an enemy of Captain Tootsie and the Secret Legion.
