Like I said in the teaser, don’t read this is if you want to avoid spoilers for the next (and final?) season of SMALLVILLE. Seeing as how often characters die and get resurrected in superhero comics, it’d figure that a superhero show would follow suit. Keeping that in mind (and considering how the name of the season debut episode is “Lazarus”) it really shouldn’t be surprising that a character’s coming back.
Alright alright alright… don’t say I didn’t warn you.
IGN’s saying that John Schneider’s coming back as Pa Kent. “How can’t that be?” you ask.
“Pa Kent died of a heart attack in season five!” you exclaim. == TEASER ==
IGN’s revealed the “what,” but they aren’t explaining the “how.” I suppose you’ll have to watch the show for that. He’s also supposed to show up in at least one episode in addition to the season premiere. Like I just said, I think the title “Lazarus” ought to be a big clue that this isn’t going to be a dream or a flashback. You know, they’ve already done an adaptation of the DOOMSDAY storyline - - wouldn’t it be wild if this was SMALLVILLE’s more restrained, down-to-Earth take on BLACKEST NIGHT?
This is the first I heard of this tenth season of SMALLVILLE being the ultimate one. I really thought this show could keep going on forever, but I suppose ten years is a good round amount of time for a run. Sheesh… I was a freshman in high school when this show started!
Considering the other long-running cast member, Chloe Sullivan, has departed the show (although not because she’s dead,) I think this would be a good chance to discuss what other long-departed characters you’d like to see return for this last season. Maybe Lana Lang? How about Lex Luthor?
