Ed Brubaker delivers
I had gotten into Brubaker's work while reading his Captain America and Daredevil runs and started picking up everything he wrote. Sleeper is at it's best and enthralling Noir-like crime story that sucks you in, You really start to connect with the Main character Holden as he's playing the double agent game. You start to understand why he has to do things that he does. And even through the end you're pulling for him. Now about the actual art. It's stellar. Awesome pencils by Phillips, it reflects the noir like story almost perfectly, Another selling point were the awesome colors. Everything is shady and it's perfect that way. The actual book I picked up was season one. It's a very good collection, I paid around $16 american for it and for twelve issues. that's fantastic. Overall I recommend it to anyone who likes Ed Brubakers writing. Or anyone who likes a good noir/ crime story.
