Skadi

Name: Skadi. Also Skaði and Skade.

Symbols: The main symbol of Skade was her bow.

Area Of Control: cold, winter, hunt, and snow.

Usual Image: Skadi was thought of as a tall mature woman.

Holy Books: The Edda, as well as poems and sagas.

Origin

While all the Asgardians were on Earth with no memory of their pasts (see Lost Gods) Malekith of the Dark Elves took over the abandoned city of Asgard and captured the Valkyries. Brunnehilda escaped and went to warn Dani Moonstar (since Dani was once a Valkyrie herself). Dani called upon X-Force (including former New Mutants Sunspot, Rictor and Meltdown who had traveled with Dani to Asgard once before).

After escaping from the city of Asgard (leaving Cable behind) they run into an old ally named Kindra who offers to help them escape. They follow her through a maze of subterranean tunnels, and as they come out they notice the ground shaking. Suddenly they come upon the Frost Giant Skadi, Mistress of the Mountain Lodges. She tells them that Malekith has imprisoned the rest of the Valkyrior inside of Valhalla, the Dead of the Honored Dead. Dani sasy she can get inside but she can't get TO Valhalla. Skadi reveals Brunnhilda's winged stallion, Aragorn, nursing wound inflicted by Malekith's dogs and waiting for Dani.
