Skaar: Son of Hulk Presents: Savage World of Sakaar
Visit the Wild War of Sakaar
I have mixed feelings about this. It could either be really cool or just feel like a bunch of filler. The fact that Greg Pak and co. are doing it is a good thing. There is a lot that we don't know. I suppose seeing more of the 'past' could make an interesting read.
I do have to say that while I like the idea of Skaar, I have yet to read the last issue. It just hasn't made it to the top of my read pile. I know I should get to it soon. The question is, when will the inevitable father-son reunion take place? I'm sure Skaar will be mad at Daddy for the life he had to live.
I also wonder whose fist is it that clocks Skaar on the last preview page.

Skaar #1 (Movie variant)
I guess people really liked reading about Hulk's little boy, Skaar. The first issue was better than I thought it would be. Just like the movie. That's good. I wasn't knocked off my feet with it. I do wonder where the character will go. The whole "smash" thing has obviously been done already. Skaar needs to get out of Hulk's shadow and prove himself as his own character. So I'll give him time to establish himself to see what will happen next. I don't doubt that Greg Pak has some interesting twists planned.

Grrr...Skaar carry big weapons. Skaar Smash!
Check it out. Aint-it-cool news has a ten page preview for SKAAR. I'll admit, I'm a little skeptical. You can't say it's not a great creative team on this. My question is, is this really necessary? Do we really need a "Son of Hulk"?
You could question the...originality of a character that is basically just a copy of another. It's enough that we have Hulk, She-Hulk and Red Hulk. Now we get Hulk Jr. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy She-Hulk's character and am enjoying the Red Hulk series. But what's Jr. gonna do? You know eventually he'll make his way to Earth and blame daddy for not taking him to a ballgame or something. It's his fault that he had to grow up on a crazy barbaric planet, right? Who cares that Hulk wasn't aware that he was alive. Maybe I'm just bitter because this smells a little like Daken, Wolverine's son.
Another question, how did he grow up so fast? Part of his biological make-up? Is this set in the "future"? Guess we haven't seen that before.
Of course I'll pick it up. Like I said, it has a great creative team. Greg Pak has done wonders since he started writing Hulk. Perhaps he can bring his magic along here.
One of the season’s most anticipated new launches is almost here, as Skaar: Son Of Hulk #1 arrives in stores this Wednesday. But if you want a ten-page sneak peak of this incredible new ongoing series, all you have to do is head over to Aint-It-Cool-News at http://www.aintitcool.com/node/37019! How did Skaar survive? Is there any force in the universe that can stop him from conquering? All these answers and more come straight from acclaimed writer Greg Pak (architect of World War Hulk) and red-hot penciller Ron Garney (Wolverine)!
The beginning of the next big chapter in the Hulk mythos arrives in Skaar: Son of Hulk #1!

I have mixed feelings about this. It could be good but haven't we seen this sorta thing before? The kid somehow ages rapidly to cause problems? The only things making me look forward to this is Greg Pak and Ron Garney. I'll give it a chance. Hopefully I'll like it.
Born in fire, raised by monsters and destined to rule—The Son Of Hulk is here! This June, Skaar: Son Of Hulk #1 smashes its way into Marvel history, as World War Hulk architect Greg Pak and red hot Wolverine artist Ron Garney present the next major chapter of the Hulk mythos! Born of the Hulk and a warrior princess, Skaar survived the destruction of his home planet and has arrived on an alien planet shattered by war—but will he unite the people or destroy them all? This new ongoing series is perfect for Hulk fans new and old, featuring all the action, intrigue and smashing you’ve come to expect—along with insight into one of Marvel’s most important new characters!
This issue also features three can’t miss covers, as Garney presents a vicious vision of Skaar on a 50/50 cover, while fan favorite Carlo Pagulayan presents an iconic look at the Hulk’s son on the second 50/50 cover to Skaar: Son of Hulk #1! But if that weren’t enough, renowned fantasy artist Julie Bell provides a special, top secret variant cover to the issue that will rock the Hulk’s world!
