I'm linked with the X-Men and I am one of the many characters published by Marvel! This profile will walk you through my life history, and although it is not as complicated as some (*cough*Hollow*cough*)

Origin

While Sean Cassidy (Banshee), Siryn's father was on an INTERPOL mission, her mother, Maeve Rouke gave birth to her. But a while after she was born, Maeve was killed by a bomb, and her cousin, or uncle as she called him, Black Tom Cassidy took care of her until Sean got home. When Sean finally came home from his mission to find Maeve dead, he got angry at Tom for not looking after her, and he sonic screamed at him, breaking his leg, therefore Tom never got to tell him about Siryn.

Her First Drink

Siryn says: I'm an alcoholic, for those of you who didn't know. Well, I've quit now, but I used to be. I also used to be a smoker.

Tom decided to get revenge on Sean by raising Siryn on his own, and raising her to hate Sean. As time went by, Tom got involved in more illigal crimes, and for her protection at the time (she was twelve), Tom "shipped" her off to St. Elizabeth's boarding school.

A year later, she had her first drink. She said she only took a few sips like the others, to dull the pain. But when they stopped because it made them feel sick and bad, Siryn kept on drinking. When she was fifthteen, she found out that Black Tom had been arrested by INTERPOL agents.

Introduced Into The Marvel Universe

Siryn's First Costume

Siryn says: Yes, that's right, when I was first introduced, I was a villain!

Siryn was first introduced into the Marvel Universe in Spider-Woman #37, as a villain. She, Black Tom and his partner, the Juggernaut were in San Fransico on a tram, passing a mint, dicussing their plan to rob the entire supply of the United States vibranium from the building, that had been scheduled to be picked up by Nick Fury the next day. When asked is she nervous by Tom, she replies that she is a bit, but insists that she won't let him down.

At that moment in the Xavier Institute, Professor X detects a mutant in San Fransisco with, as he said "considerable power", and he summons the X-Men, and tells them they have a mission, a contact mission.

Back in San Fransisco, and Spider-Woman arrives home to find her room mate, Lindsey has prepared a house-warming party. After meeting David Ishima, and leaving the house to go outside, and the two are about to kiss, Spider-Woman jumps in pain - her enhanced hearing had just picked up a sonic scream. Leaving to change, and Spider-Woman sets out to find the source.

After taking down Black Tom Cassidy, and Spider-Woman enters the mint to find a trail of destruction from Siryn, which includes broken walls and unconcsious people. Spider-Woman catches Siryn as she's breaking into the vault, in a costume modelled after her father's, and the two battle. During this battle, we see that Siryn is very skilled in using her abilities, even though she is just a teenager!. She was able to use a sonic lance, that Spider-Woman, during her monologue, said could have killed her. She also displays the ability to produce a forcefield capable of stopping Spider-Woman's venom blasts and she is also able to fly. When Spider-Woman hurls a sheet of metal (copper or silver, unknown) at Siryn, Siryn stops it with a scream, but is taken down by a venom blast. As she lies on the floor, the Juggernaut shows up and fends off Spider-Woman. The trio (Black Tom, Siryn and the Juggernaut) walk off as Spider-Woman lies on the floor.

X-Force Siryn

In the next issue, and Black Tom, Siryn and the Juggernaut are on board a ship, but are ambushed by Spider-Woman and the X-Men. We see Siryn panic as the boat begins to sink after an attack by Colossus, and we also here Tom's inner thoughts, which show that he is some what concerned for Siryn. After the Juggernaut is taken out (Siryn thought he was disintergrated), Black Tom sends Siryn to "run interference". She is ambushed by Spider-Woman, but after being knocked over, flies up and out of the ship, her scream paralyzing Spider-Woman, causing her to let go of Siryn's back. After Spider-Woman was caught by Angel, Siryn used her powers to make him see a "sonic hologram" of a dinasaur, and then used her voice to take over his mind and make him drop Spider-Woman.

As the battle rages on, Spider-Woman leads Siryn into the ship. Siryn uses her voice as a sonar to find Spider-Woman. When sees Spider-Woman's costume, she blasts at it with her voice, but when the costume then lies on the floor with no visible body, Siryn becomes scared believing she killed Spider-Woman. This is not the truth, as Spider-Woman had stuffed her costume and she ambushed Siryn from behind with a venom blast, knocking her out.

Still unconscious, and the X-Men and Spider-Woman take the villains back to shore. Siryn is taken into an ambulance (still unconscious), and when Black Tom sees this, he gets angry believing that Siryn's hurt, but Spider-Woman assures him (as he's being arrested) that she will be fine in a few hours. Black Tom then tells the police that Siryn and Spider-Woman (the latter who had been falsely accused) had nothing to do with the crime. Spider-Woman later receives a letter from Storm, telling Spider-Woman that Siryn had been reunited with her father.

X-Force

Siryn Using Her Powers

She became a member of the mutant team, X-Force (and was a team leader). She also spent some time with X-Corporation, a mutant search and rescue organization.

X-Factor Investigations

Siryn recently joined X-Factor: Investigations, formed by her former lover, Jamie Madrox.

When she first joined, Siryn was obtaining information from a woman named Victoria. Victoria had fallen "in love" with Siryn, but this was just because of Siryn's new found power, using her vocal cords to persuade anyone (bar mutants) to fall in love with her and be suggestable to anything she says, which Siryn used on Victoria to get information on Mr. Manetta, a man who made mutants lives miserable. Siryn pulled the pages from the envelope, and the pages are blank. The bar their in is suddenly richoted with bullets, killing Victoria. Siryn screams as Victoria dies in her arms. Siryn runs outside to chase after the gun man, insulting Strong Guy who's on the sidewalk outside, and was supposed to be back up. Siryn screams at the car and knocks it over, throwing out the woman who shot at them in the bar. Siryn shouts (shouts, not screams) at the woman to shoot at her, but the woman commits suicide.

Back at base, Siryn is just staring at bottle of alcohol, as Layla Miller enters. Layla asks if she's going to drink it, but Siryn explains that she used to be an alcoholic and just intends on staring at it.

As Strong Guy and Siryn talk over Layla, Layla drops in quickly that the woman who shot Victoria was "an operative for a Detective Agency called "Singularity Investigations," a kind of a security outfit for the rich and famous" as Layla said. Siryn does intend on storming into Singularity, but Layla tells her that that isn't a good idea, and she should take the client who's about to enters case (we see that Singularity had been expecting Siryn, but because a new force of chaos had been been introduced, her destiny had changed). Siryn takes the clients case, Gloria Santiago, who believe's that her sister is being mind-controlled because she's been acting differently recently. Siryn goes to spy on Gloria's sister, and find out that it's not mind-control, but actually that she'd been sleeping with actress Jack Vaughn.

We see Siryn talking in her sleep about Ewan McGregor and lightsaber and about venturing down the toilet with him, and when she's woken up, she finds out that Gloria Santiago has been arrested for the murder of her sister.

Siryn flies Jamie over to the crime seen, and uses her persuasion power to get past a police officer. She is about to make Jack Vaughn confess to what really happened with this power too, but is stopped by Damian Tryp. The two then fly down to the police, to try and get the truth from Gloria, but she is in so much shock, she can't remember anything. Siryn then leaves when M arrives to read Gloria's mind to find out the truth, so Siryn flies back to Mutant Town to help out with the invading authority trying to stop the riots in Mutant Town. Strong Guy and Wolfsbane managed to hold them off, but Siryn delivered the final blow and sent the authorities with a scream.

Beaten

Siryn offers Rictor to come and eat with her (after they get back to HQ), but he refuses. On the way to the cafe, Siryn is brutally attacked by Damian Tryp Jr. (because X-Factor humiliated the firm), and left her to die in an alley. She is then taken in by a crazy ex-mutant doctor, who treats her injuries. She was hit in the neck with a drug that rendered her unable to speak or scream (that's why she couldn't retaliate), so she couldn't escape from the doctor's bonds, who kept her gagged and bound. Luckily, Rictor re-accepted Siryn's offer of breakfast, and decided to follow her. He arrives at the theatre where she's being held captive, and just as the crazy ex-mutant is about to attack him, Siryn breaks free and takes a single shot, pushing the ex-mutant, given Rictor a chance to kill him. She is then carried back to HQ by Rictor.

Siryn spends the next issue in bed, resting an recovering from her injury. A proper doctor comes to check out her injuries, revealing that it was a planned attack and the attacker knew where to hit to hurt her without killing her.

Denial

As Siryn recovers, she is visited by Cyclops, and receive's the news that her father's dead. Siryn doesn't even re-act to this, and enters a state od denial, believing her father is just hiding to fool the enemies, and thinks he's still alive and says she isn't going to spend her time being upset only to have him waltz back into her life. Siryn watches the video her father left for her, explaining that she know owns Cassidy Keep. He also leaves her his special pipe, that he was given by his father.

Civil War

Madrox gave Siryn the mission of tracking down major superheroes to try and find the truth about the Decimation. She tracks down Spider-Man, and after helping him take down a crook, uses her persuasion to get him to tell her everything about the Decimation, and when she finds out, she's not happy at all. She thinks that they should go to the Institute and demand the truth, but then the X-Men show up in Mutant Town, demanding Quicksilver, but X-Factor show up themselves to defend him. Colossus makes a tiny gesture and Siryn sonic lanches him, knocking him back. After a convincing speech by Jamie, the X-Men then leave.

Theresa

Love Triangle

Siryn says: Me and M weren't friends before this, and neither were M and Wolfsbane. We were just team mates. And after we both slept with Jamie, we stopped talking to each other. But, me and M were forced to be friends by Layla, and now we are really good friends (even thought she is stuck up).

After Jamie gets drunk, he releases his libido dupe, and one sleeps with M and one sleeps with Siryn.

When the team attack Singularity Investigations, Siryn goes with Rictor to get the information on what Singularity was doing.

The group then go to see Doc Samson for a therepy session, we see that Siryn is still in denial about her father's death, and is quite happy about getting back together with Jamie.

When Siryn finds out about the love triangle, she gives Jamie the silent tratment, because she believes that if she starts speaking she will then start screaming and destroy the whole city block.

Layla later forces M and Siryn to be friends, because their not talking because of the love triangle. M suggests a shopping trip to Paris, which Siryn accepts, and the two fly out.

Paris

The two eat in a restaurant while talking, and hear a noise from outside. They run out to see a riot, burning down a mutant hostal, filled with depowered mutants. Siryn and M defend it, but when the police turn up, they decide to go peacefully instead of being fellons. In prison, a man walks by who had just been arrested, and boasts about how the gang of rioters went back to the hostal after the police left, and burned the police to the ground.

After M crucified the man, the two broke out of jail and returned to the hostal, to find that the man was right, and it had been burned to the ground. Outside, they see the girl from the hostal window they saw the night before. She tells them her name is Nicole, and after a short discussion, M decides to take her home, despite Siryn being against the idea. They fly back in M's private jet, the same way they got there, but now as friends.

Return Home

When they return home, the team are facing a new crisis of the terrorist X-Cell. Layla gives each two members a note with a place to be to find X-Cell. Siryn and M go and stand on a corner of a street, and after they are believed to be hookers, three members of X-Cell turn up, Fatale, Marrow and Blob. Marrow stabs Siryn in the shoulder, and after being sat on by Blob, she screams and sends him flying.  After this brief encounter, back at HQ, Madrox sows up Siryn's shoulder.  Siryn then helps the others take down X-Cell.

A New Case

When some grandparents come to X-Factor asking for them to help them see their grandchildren again, the case is given to Siryn and M.

Siryn and M

The two go to one of the children's concerts (the grandchildren are the "Purity Singers", children who go around singing about how the world would be much better without mutants), and Siryn uses her persuasive powers to get past the guards. While backstage, the two are attacked, and Siryn is shot at, but the bullet only grazes her head and leaves her unconscious.

When she wakes up, she's bagged and gagged to a chair in a small cabin, with M who has been chained to the floor. The two who attacked them were Solo and Clay, hired by Joseph Huber (The Isolationist).

M finally breaks out of the chains, and the two escape. While the Purity Singers and their parents are in an elevator, M and Siryn take the elevator to the grandparents, where the family are reunited. While M flies back to HQ, Siryn stays with the family.

Messiah CompleX

In 2007/08 X-Men crossover event, Messiah Complex, Siryn answers the call of Peepers who phones X-Factor believing he's being followed. When she finally arrives at the road he was driving on, only to find his car to be off the road, crashed, and Peepers body mauled.  She then prayes over Jamie's unconscious body, praying for him to wake up, which he does.  She then takes part in the final battle on Muir Island.

Pregnant, Telling Jamie and Saving Mutant Town

This arc begins with Siryn in a confessional booth, confessing about how been using the Lords name in vain, being jealous of M's iPhone and how she's been having impure thoughts baout Jamie. She then revealed that she is also pregnant, and it's Jamie's baby (this confirms who's pregnant, because Nicole earlier in the series found a pregnancy test, and fans had been debating who was pregnant).

Note - We also find out in X-Factor #28 that because Siryn was so jealous of M's iPhone, M bought one for her and the other X-Factor women

Heavily Pregnant Siryn

We then see Siryn and M talking about her prenancy, and M suggests an abortion, but Siryn quickly dismisses the idea. M also says she's Siryn's best friend now since Wolfsbane's gone.

Next, Siryn tries to tell Jamie she's pregnant, but he jumps to the wrong conclusion and believes she's leaving. M says that Siryn would have realised this if she wasn't in love with him. She tries to tell him again but he's called away by Strong Guy. When M hears Rictor calling, Siryn flies after her with a Madrox dupe.

After M is taken down, Siryn arrives on the scene as Rictor manages to save himself from castration. Siryn then saves Rictor when he's nearly run over by Arcade's cars and manages to figure that the place where the robot was receiving it's commands was close (well, M did the work before that, but...).  Anyway, the team barge in to find the dying Purifier who recruited Rictor (during Messiah Complex), telling X-Factor that when he dies, so does Mutant Town.

The team then go and patrol the streets, saving innocents, Siryn saving a terrible comedian (an ex-mutant), who constantly tries to make Siryn laugh with terrible jokes.  After the trouble ends, the group head back to base, where Guido, M and Siryn rest their feet as they listen to a Daniel Day song ("Bad Day").  Jamie brings in Val Cooper, who gives the team an option of being put into the witness protection program or working for the goverment.  She gives them twenty-four hours to decide.  The team go to see Jamie who went to the hospital to visit the man, Nathan, who he helped earlier.  After finding out he died, Jamie asks Siryn can they name the baby Nathan after him, and as she goes to say it reminds her of someone (most probably Cable), she stops mid-sentence asking him how he knows (his conscious, as Layla, told him, telling him he had been noticing the signs), and then the whole team finds out.  The team then walk home happily together, and leave a pre-recorded message for Val Cooper, and blew up the building.  Five months later in Detroit, and a depowered mutant comes to the door looking for "XF Investigations", thinking she's going to be killed, and a heavily pregnant Siryn answers the door, telling Guido to ring Jamie.

Powers

Siryn says: My main power is my sonic scream, but there are lots of different techniques and abilities I can perform with my sonic scream.

Siryn has sonic powers as a result of her mutation, like her father, but has displayed abilities he hasn't. Siryn can sonic scream, and these scream are powerful enough to shatter glass, knock people out and apparantly, destroy a city block. Siryn can also channel her scream into a "sonic lance", where she screams a tightly focuses the sound vibrations, and causes can use it to cause incredible pain, inflict damage, stun and shatter objects.

Siryn says: My sonic lance can be very strong. It can range from severing a man's hand, and although we've never seen me, but it has been said, I could apparantly kill someone with it.

Siryn Screams

Like the Siren's of the myth, Siryn can use her voice to make people fall in love with here, and in this state, they are suggestable to anything she suggets/asks. Mutants are immune to this power, but other superhumans aren't, like when she used her power to make Spider-Man tell her everything about the Deimation, after she was set a mission by Madrox. It doesn't matter what gender the person she uses her seduction powers on. When she uses this power she tends to emphasize on letters in the words, and use seductive language.

Siryn is able to use her sonic scream to fly, by screaming using it to propel herself. It is not known how she is able to use her voice to make her fly as well as others, as theoretically, she should only be able to float/levitate, but somehow she flies properly.

Siryn can also use her powers to enhance her hearing, use it as a radar sense of sorts, create force fields, stop current sounds from reaching others and talk so only one person can here (her powers are more like Sonokinesis than just sonic powers, but that is how they're described).

Siryn is immune to all of her powers.

Movie Appearances

Siryn appears in two of the three X-men Films. She is played by Shauna Kain. Her physical manifestation and her powers have stayed the same from what we have seen. In X2, Siryn is one of the children captured by William Stryker's men. Though she was tranquilized, she managed to wake up the entire school so they could escape. Her "Last Stand" appearance is nothing more than a few cameos.
