Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

A Dame To Kill For is Frank Millers second story arc in the Sin City universe.

It follows Dwight McCarthy and his obsession with a young rich dame called Ava Lord, and the devastation that follows in her wake.

Ava dumped dwight.

She hurt him deeply.

She "took" him back but then betrayed him, for her own personal gain.

He gets revenge for what she did to him (with some help from Marv and the Girls from Old Town).

This can be thought of as a prequel to The Hard Goodbye, featuring background scenes of Marv on his mission of revenge.
