    SS basicly had none but a  good old fashioned beatdown...such as he received from Thanos (surprisingly not in Thanos's gallery), or just like anyone else, someone with more power than him.

    That's a mist which originated from Abraxas, the Galactus slayer. It's also written by Jeph Loeb. So, no, bad writing, and an energy discharge produced by a multiversal entity is not a weakness.
     
    The Surfer is highly resistant to any temperature. He has entered suns willingly without any effort on multiple occasions, and has fought inside a black hole, as well.

    Besides the Loeb-force bit, the fact that that mist was able to "destroy" (is he dead from that?  I honestly don't recall seeing him on the shelves recently :/) the Surfer was kinda my point (along with the beat-down and more powerfull character).  He doesn't have any real "kryptonite" type weakness.

    That scan is from 2001, and he got restored by the end of that arc, actually, so no, he's not dead. He has recently appeared in Annihilation: Silver Surfer (4 issue mini, 2006), Annihilation (2006-7) , Fantastic 4 (2007, in which the infamous arm bar occurred), Silver Surfer: Requiem (4 issue mini, 2007, out of continuity) Silver Surfer: In Thy Name (4 issue mini, 2008),  Nova's series (2008), Skaar: Son of Hulk (2009-2010), Beta Ray Bill: Godhunter (2009), he is currently co-starring in the Thanos Imperative, and is set to appear in Chaos War, this October. He's there.

    I honestly don't credit that as a weakness. It would be basically the same as Billy Batson being afraid that Shazam will take his powers away. Sure, he could, but it's not a weakness per se, that someone other than that certain character could exploit. So, I agree that he has no notable weaknesses, of any kind.
     
    I hope he gets his own book soon, too.
