Off My Mind: Can Norman Keep Control Over His Secret Weapon?
Norman Osborn is simply crazy. We saw before that Sentry is his "secret weapon." Okay, maybe Sentry isn't his secret weapon, but the Void is. In today's Dark Avengers #15, we get another look at when Doctor Doom and Norman butted heads. Norman uses his 'weapon' against Doom with explosive results.
What makes this more interesting is Norman actually thinking he can control Sentry and the Void. Does that just show how crazy Norman is? Is this going to lead to his downfall?
Norman has maintained his " Dark Reign" since Secret Invasion: Dark Reign, just over a year ago. Now it feels like things are spiraling down rather quickly. First we saw Norman send his Dark Avengers against Asgard. That battle lead to a pretty bad confrontation between Sentry and Ares. What's Norman's latest move to keep his leash on Sentry? Norman sends (an also crazy) Bullseye to kill Sentry's wife, Lindy.
The way I see it, if Bullseye succeeds, it can't be good. There's also the fact that Bullseye has to be pretty whacked in the head to even consider killing Sentry's wife. Sure this incident could push Bob over the edge and bring the Void to full control. Regardless of what kind of serum Norman has, does he really think he can fully control the Void? Controlling Sentry is one thing, trying to control the Void...it's just crazy.
We still have that big noble death coming up. We're supposed to see a death that "[ends] the fight and [gives] birth to a new Heroic Age." It remains to be seen if that death will be Sentry. Sentry has died so many times already. Will we see Sentry take down Norman and thus, end his Dark Reign? Perhaps all the evil geniuses should take note, try to keep your crazy notions in check otherwise your master plans are likely to explode in your face.
I kinda wish I didn't read solicits and look at previews, Because if you look at the promos you can pretty much figure out who will live, and Sentry is the perfect candidate to become "heroic" again with an ultimate sacrifice. You know what would be funny though, if when he died marvel immediately came out with a mini series of his return, because as we all know, nobody can stay murdered in comics, and they all eventually get a mini series return book, Well we also all know that sentry dies all the time. Now I don't think that will actually happen mark my words Bendis won't keep his baby dead for long.
hard to say. Norman kind of has to ride out the Siege book, so i dont think
he can really bite it here. as far as Bullseye is concerned, he might get bagged.
i still have the feeling Bullseye and Karla are going to betray Norman.
Norman will get his eventually though, i will say he's made quite the mark.
The Sentry is going to die a redeeming death.
MY question is...why is Tommy Lee Jones in the top scan right side...lol
around since he can use her as a bargaining chip against Sentry. thats not really caring.
Does tommy lee jones HAVE to play norman osborn in a Spider-Man reboot??? i mean, Sam Jackson is Nick Fury! Seems inevitable...
The Void will take over Sentry. It will be revealed that Bullseye killed his wife. Sentry and the Void will split. Sentry will stop the Void, permanently....then sacrifice his life to bring his wife back who becomes the new Sentry. I think that is the shadowed woman in the Secret Avenger's promos. She says "I am in control of my life". Besides Scarlet Witch, what heroine's life has been spinning out of control? Lindy Roberts. Plus the cape and the belt are a match.
SPOILER ALERT!: Do not read on if you don't want anything spoiled. What follows is mere conjecture on my part. I have no inside track or news.....I'm just hypothesizing.
What if the whole Sentry deal was Superman's fault? Follow my logic here. Prior to the JLA/Avengers crossover Busiek and Perez said they wanted to do a crossover that actually impacted both universes. That had a lasting effect on each universe. Well, in that crossover, Scarlet Witch was exposed to "Chaos Magic" and if you read the crossover, she was feeling the effects bad. After the crossover we see the mental decline of the Scarlet Witch, and her subsequent breakdown. In the crossover Superman accuses Captain America and crew of "not doing enough". Crossover is finished. Scarlet Witch stays on with the Avengers, sees her ex husband start dating Carol, Simon leaves after the Kang incident, and then Wasp reminds her of the kids she lost...plus the pressure of being a super hero on a team that gets thrashed by the Wrecking Crew (someone they've beaten up before). Wanda is under pressure and wants to leave the team to recreate her children, but can't because she is the current powerhouse on the team, a team she has been told "doesn't do enough". So she starts to create a hero that can replace her, the Sentry. The comparisons between the Sentry and Superman are obvious.....heck, they both wear a huge freakin' S on their chest. Before she can complete his creation and manufacture (a reason why the heroes don't remember him yet his name appears in records like Reed Richard's computer) she goes ballistic and the Avengers take her down. Then coma, then House of M. She never got to finish the Sentry. But she did build in a nemesis, the Void. Robert is his own weakness. Kind of like Superman's weakness being his own home planet. Because Superman blabbed his mouth, we had to deal with the Sentry....
Can I have a No-Prize now?
I personally thought Norman Osborn reminded me of John McCain originally, but he does increasingly look like Tommy Lee Jones. :-P
For some reason I believe that the deaths include all of the Dark Avengers in the end...
Osborn will not be able to control the void, The Void, not Bob, will end up killing him...
Osborn wont be able to control something like that. Siege will probably end with the Sentry losing what little control he has left turning into the void and he will take it out on Osborn and his Avengers. He might have made the formula that he is giving the Sentry wrong
Which will end in a final battle between the combined forces of the heroes against the Void (which will probably cause Asgard to come crashing to the ground) only to end with the Sentry having to sacrifice himself to Kill the void and everybody blaming Osborn in the end (If he survives the final battle)
nah man. Moonstone and Daken are both in comics that happen after Herioc Age starts.
never trust cover art.
" @sora_thekey: nah man. Moonstone and Daken are both in comics that happen after Herioc Age starts. never trust cover art. "
What comic has Moonstone in it?
I said Daken and Venom are alive on that cover
with sentry's new reality warping powers being more powerful than molecule mans i think it is going to come to an abrupt ending with Sentry either reseting the world back to the final secret invasion blow but not have Norman in position to succeed in the matter or rest the world to before Siege started or finally reset the world all the way back to before civil war and change the out come to it all. No matter if any of those are real i think Sentry will kill or put Osborn in to custody and blink himself out of existance after everything is set right.
actually after reading PRIMMASTER64's post maybe Sentry will reset time to leave Norman and his goons in the hands of molecule man
Has anyone read this issue yet, because I just did and am wondering if it is too early to really talk about it without spoiling things for others.

usually out of spoiler interest we take it to the official thread,
which for Siege is here

and keep the heavy stuff in spoilers in interest of our members that get their comics shipped at
later times, like so...
by tomorrow. by the way, have you found any BACON in Siege yet?
@FrischDVH: Aaaaah my ears! Dude its sucks how right you are. You hit it on the button.
Well the first part. Not that crazy crossover thing.
Has Norman Osborn ever been shown to be in control of anything at all? Especially for a long period of time?
