Can anyone shed some light about this character on me... I've got a few questions...

First, when is the last time anyone ever used this guy in a book? I haven't seen him ever really, just in MvC & MvC2

    What is his powers?

Have you looked at the write-up on Marvel's website? I'm not sure about which issues he's appeared in though.

he's a character similar to Cthulu except he was created  by Robert E. Howard , he's fought Dr. Strange here and there but not to much to report.

@inferiorego: Probably because Shuma-Gorath doesn't seem to be able to die and in the issues he has been in it really relies on a Dr. Strange with amped up power to banish him from the dimension. I do hope we get to see Shuma-Gorath in some more comics, maybe having a vs battle with another powerful cosmic entity. I think Shuma-Gorath has only been in around 15 panels since the 1970s lol.

I've also swore to write a G'Nort mini if I ever get to DC. I recently heard a team at DC offered to do it for free and Didio said no.

You know...I think a good story with S-G would be one where he somehow finds the heart of the universe and keeps drawing energy out of it (since he is a leech in the sense that he drains magical and non-magical energy) and then everything turns to chaos.

    i LOVE Shuma-Gorath!

that being said, for the obvious reason. he's to much to handle. it would be like using Onslaught or Dark Phoenix all the time.

The real question is how on earth did he make it into the fighting game?
Were they just sitting around trying to come up with characters for the game and one guy said,
"I've got it! Shuma-Gorath, he's perfect for a 2-D fighting game! Everybody loves Shuma!"
    "Who?!"
"Shuma-Gorath! I know he's only been like two comics, and nobody knows who he is, but an unknown, demon/abstract-type is exactly what this game needs!"
    "Who?!"
[The Boss] " I love Shuma-Gorath! Great call! Put him in the game!"

Well, Hell Lords and Gods of Pocket Dimensions or Dimensions are usually rarely used. It's so sad.

@Goenitz: Thanks, when you think of it one Shuma Gorath is 10000 times more evil and more powerful than Norman Osborn and the Void/Sentry combined, I just think it would be great to see him, Mephisto and other Lords of dimensions more often.

Right off the top of my head, I haven't been reading lately, but is Scarlet Witch back yet? Well she has chaos magic, and Shuma Gorath is form the chaos dimension, so maybe she comes back as her herald, as he tries to overthrow the regular dimension's cosmic beings. Maybe I'm being fanboyish, but that would be a great story for the cosmic characters that are largely unused nowadays. Just one day Wanda arrives crazy powerful, as an omen of crazy destruction and chaos... that would make for awesome art.

Anyways, Shuma Gorath is a great character in the vein of the Lovecraft mythos, of creatures that are not necessarily evil, but will throw the world as you know it into madness just because that is what they are. Their complete amorality and the mortals inability to fathom their motives is their appeal.

As far as the recently, he's made very small cameos in Wolverine First Class, and Doctor Voodoo. Besides that, I guess his last significant appearance was Marvel Knights Fantastic Four in 2004. Watch out, this winter, he returns in Invaders Now to fight The Invaders.
