Rose & the Thorn – Chasing Ghosts
Continued from last issue. Inspector Maggie Sawyer of the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit interviews Rose Forrest about the 100 and the Thorn. Sawyer walks through the origins of the 100, and Rose tries to find out who murdered her father. She passes along a note that Thorn “left” for her, and asks about Mr. Orchid. Sawyer tells Rose about Mr. Orchid, Nicolo Fiore, and his connection to the 100. As Rose leaves to become Thorn and track down Mr. Orchid, Sawyer and Dan Turpin suspect Rose of being the Thorn. Thorn tracks down Mr. Orchid, and burns his operation down. As she leaves, Saywer stops her at gunpoint, but she escapes.
The Spoiler – Uneven Parallels
After Stephanie Brown performs at the Gotham High gymnastics meet, her mother confronts her about her suspicions on the coach. Stephanie’s mother insinuates that Coach Lewis is into drug dealing. Over the next couple of days, Stephanie sees other signs that corroborate her mother’s concern. Stephanie suits up as the Spoiler to investigate. She discovers the coach’s stash, and the coach tries to stop her. Spoiler makes short work of the coach, and afterwards bonds with her mother over pizza.
Firehawk – A Little Taste of Flame
Lorraine Reilly transferred to S.T.A.R. Labs from IMHS once IMHS closed down due to cuts. She is on duty when the Parasite breaks free of his stasis prison. Lorraine transforms into Firehawk, and attacks Parasite. Firehawk and the S.T.A.R. Labs security team try to stop Parasite’s rampage. Parasite tries to absorb Firehawk’s power, but it proves too much for him and he collapses. Firehawk reabsorbs all the nuclear material, and explodes it in space so as not to let it loose in Metropolis. Firehawk resigns herself to become Fireahwk again if needed.
