First there was shodow pessesion jutsu.Then there was the shodow strangle jutsu and finally there's shadow mimickry. In this jutsu shadows' come up from the ground and attack the opponent!

No obviously lol its from his own shadow or using their own shadow.

We find out later that shikamaru can use others shadow against them. He can also use his shadow to throw weapons, and to pierce others and objects.
