    S.H.I.E.L.D. #1

The first issue in this new series. Written by Jonathan Hickman and drawn by Dustin Weaver. This comic was a pretty good read. I mean we get this new secret origin of S.H.I.E.L.D. that we never knew, and we find out that this organization has been around for over 4 thousand years. Wow. I've never really read any previous S.H.I.E.L.D. comics in the past, but i'd have to say that this comic was well did. In this issue we meet a guy named Leonid in 1953 and he gets taken from his life and entered into S.H.I.E.L.D., but Leonid is def not a normal guy. What i thought was really weird is that he gets taken to S.H.I.E.L.D. in Rome by Agents Stark and Richards. Huh? Mr.Fantastic and Iron Man had relatives in S.H.I.E.L.D.? And are these guys their fathers? This issue goes back to the beginning of S.H.I.E.L.D. and up to the present(1953-1956), and we find out that some pretty famous guys in our worlds past were agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. You just might remember the name Da Vinci. Lol. This comic was def an interesting read and i'm looking forward to upcoming issues. So i do recommend going out and getting this comic. Go see what you think.

I don't really know about you, but i for one have been really looking forward to Hickman's Shield. I want to start of by saying that Weaver and Strain's work on the art is absolutely amazing, really blew me away. now to the story. I'm sure most people who are into comics know about the organization of Shield, which for those who don't know Shield is/was the top global peacekeeping organization in the Marvel U. Shield was initially formed and led by Nick Fury to combat the growing threat of terro...

Jonathan Hickman is one of those writers who has garnered so much trust in me that when I see him writing a new book I immediately add it to my pull list, no questions asked.  The man made me love the Fantastic Four, something I thought would never happen, he reinvigorated Nick Fury and has turned Secret Warriors into an absolute must read rollercoaster, and now with SHIELD he's exploring the secret history of the Marvel Universe.  So, how did he do in the debut issue?  Well, the title of th...
