Sherlock Holmes has fallen deeply into cocaine addiction, exhibiting extreme agitation and experiencing vivid hallucinations. He has sequestered himself and isn't seeing anyone.
Dr. Watson has recognized that there have been at least one hundred cases throughout London of people with similar symptoms many who have committed suicide due to their horrific visions and separation from reality. More importantly they were all cocaine abusers. An analysis of the cocaine reveals that someone has been lacing London's cocaine supply with a synthetic chemical that Dr. Watson has never seen before. This new drug has been causing these terrible reactions and now Sherlock Holmes has succumbed to it's effects!
