When I first saw this cover, I was wow-ed by the originality of leading a comic book, aimed primarily at blokes with the very feminine concept of a character showing off an engagement ring. But this isn't quite the first time it's happened. I'm not sure if Greg Horn was aware of the 80s series 'Marvel Saga', issue 22 of which has a very similar cover to this, albeit Mary Jane showing off her gems to Spidey (oops, that could be interpreted in more than one way, huh?). I have to say that Horn's cover still steals it, though. I can't imagine that if you polled a bunch of Shulkie fans that fingers would win in a vote regarding the part of her anatomy they'd most like see a close up of. Still, that's a very nice hand - I think she's had a manicure, don't you? She can't have taken down many bad guys recently and kept her fingernails so clean, can she? I have to say that I really love the look in Jen's eyes here. Horn really brings across a sense of joy and fun in a somewhat unusual cover.
