During an adventure in space, she was exposed to Cosmic Rays which mutated her body into a rock-like form similar to that of the Thing. She is not to be confused with Darla Deering (a.k.a. Ms. Thing).

    She was involved with the Initiative and replaced with a Skrull during Secret Invasion. So I imagine she returned to Earth with the other heroes who were being kept by the Skrulls.

    That's something I've been trying to figure out.  During Initiative, they showed her as She-Thing; but that turned out to be a Skrull disguised as her.  Supposedly, she was part of a support group of heroes dealing with their imprisonment by the  Skrulls.  I'm not sure what she looks like right now.  Personally, I'd prefer a sexy redhead over a walking mass of orange rocks.
