Misty´s Blood on the Streets
Having a dark/police/gang comic book parallel to the Shadowland main event was a great idea: while the Hand is messing with DD´s mind and taking control all over Hell´s kitchen, a mobster´s war explodes in plain Manhattan Midtown and the Hand is involved, we just don´t know yet the extension of it. Johnston´s narrative and dialogues are quite interesting as he can sustain the suspense while delivering pieces of the plot without revealing completely the trama. Putting together the "heroes from the streets" (characters that are unknown, quite obscure and, if it was other writer, it wouldn´t be this good, ´cause you would thinks that these "heroes" are boring, but Johnston makes them interesting), like Misty Knight, Shroud, Paladin and Silver Sable to investigate who´s murdering bad guys was an unorthodox move that really worked well. This is a paced story, without much action, but Wellington Alves´art is impressive, realistic and the color are beautiful. This is a noir, truly cop movie story, that represents a totally different aproach from the others Shadowland events, what is the highlight of this book. This is a comic worth buying it.
