    People Didn't Like This?

    The Story:

After Daredevil does the unthinkable, his friends are forced to intervene and put an end to his Shadowland empire that leads to an all out battle.

    My Thoughts:

Daredevil is one of my favorite characters so I had been anxiously waiting to catch up on his series and read this event. In spite of all the negative reviews I still looked forward to it. After finishing this comic, I don't see why people didn't like this. Writer Andy Diggle did a great job in my opinion. He created an interesting and compelling story that pushed past all the boundaries one would never cross and did so in such a creative way that deserves its recognition.

Did I want to see Daredevil end up as the villain? No. But it didn't mean I didn't enjoy this story. It made a great story and that's all that matters. You're sucked into the story from the first issue where Daredevil faces off against his longtime nemesis Bullseye. This sparked the beginning of a war that would sweep through the entire city. The pacing was great. I couldn't put this book down it was so good.

The dialogue was well written and the characterization was dead on. There was no caddy or annoying dialogue. Everyone says the type of stuff you'd expect from them. Diggle makes great use of the large cast of characters involved in the story. I really liked Iron Fist and Eletra's roles. They weren't just there for show they played a pivotal role in the story.

The art is by Billy Tan who did a very nice job delivering some spectacular artwork for this event. He did a great job on the action scenes. Those are what really stuck out to me. The way he drew them all out was awesome. I like how he drew Iron Fist in particular and the way he drew the use of his abilities. The covers were a bit plain and boring but the interior makes up for it.

Shadowland was an awesome event that for some reason received overwhelming negative reviews when in my opinion, was one of the most underrated events of the year. It definitely deserves a read. If you're a Daredevil fan you won't want to miss out on this story. It shows his character in a way you never imagined possible. This gets a perfect 5/5 rating from me.

    Rating: 5/5
