    History

When the Warlocks return from the Ashen Realms, the world will end. New York City will be the first to fall, humanity will die, and their champion, the last witch , Claire Vala, will be defeated by the Warlock leader, Vigil.

    So goes the prophecy.

There are those who still fight, however. Led by the mysterious Helen Nightshade, this group attempts to subvert the prophecy and change the future.

How long Helen has been working towards her goals is unknown. She and the Shadow Reaver Exile have been active since at least the early 20th century, when they attempted to recruit several witches to their cause. Always their plans ended in failure, as the Warlocks slowly but inevitably exterminated the bloodlines of Earth's witches.

At some point, Helen and Exile managed to steal Golem away from Barnabas Sinclair, providing them with a powerful ally in their struggle against the Grimwalkers.

Finally, on the dawn of the Warlock's return, Helen attempted to thwart prophecy by ensuring that Claire Vala was killed prematurely, saving her sister Jesse instead. Then she brought Claire's ghost back, and the witch and the revenant became the newest members of the Shadow Reavers.
