    Master Sgt Half-Mast McCannick was one of the regular characters that appeared in PS: The Preventive Maintenance Magazine throughout much of it’s run, both in short instructional comics, and as logo for different departments.

    He was portrayed as the much put-upon gruff old-school Army supply sergeant with no patience for mistakes.

    He was, also allegedly the person who answered the mail that came into PS from Army posts from around the world, in fact the address page stated “send all mail to Sgt. Half-Mast McCannick c/o PS Preventive Maintenance
