What if Scarlet Witch never said "no more mutants?" That's what Dennis Hopeless' upcoming SECRET WARS book, HOUSE OF M, will be exploring. Reported originally by Hero Complex, Hopeless discussed going into this book and what fans can expect.

Hopeless stated that he was a fan of Hickman's run on AVENGERS and he was happy to learn that his run would be leading into this upcoming event.

Hopeless loved the original HOUSE OF M story and he and Kris Anka have spent a lot of time discussing where this book is headed. He went on to say he's enjoyed writing Fin Fang Foom, but even that is saying too much.

There wasn't much given away about the upcoming book, aside from the fact that Magneto, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch all have complicated relationships with each other but their wall is not crumbling around them, which was what led to the downfall of the original story by Brian Michael Bendis. Keep your eyes out for HOUSE OF M during SECRET WARS by Dennis Hopeless and Kris Anka.

Does anybody when Secret Wars wraps up and they start the new universe?

Every past event are happening in whole big event. That being said, there will be more events to come.

Okay House of M, you made it onto my Secret Wars pull list.

Seems like Marvel and DC couldn't let go of their history this time around lol.

I want this bad ass version of Toad to be the new status quo.

I also really hope we get to see a House of M Sentry. It's been so long since we've seen Sentry as a good guy.

House of M is one of my favourite event stories so this was already a tentative addition to my pull list, but adding in Dennis Hopeless and Kris Anka just cemented that. I. Can't. Wait.

I believe the main event book is supposed to end in September, assuming nothing gets pushed back and it continues to double-ship over the summer, so I think September will be the last days of the old universe and then in October we'll have the start of the universe.

Seeing as how Marvel is making Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch not Magneto's kids and not mutants in the comics, it'll certainly be interesting to see where they go with this.

Damn. Kris Anka, fresh off All-New X-Factor, is on a Secret Wars tie-in I was already pretty excited for... I guess Marvel really wants my money. Just take it all.

Sweet, House of M is right up there with the Age of Apocalypse and the Dark Phoenix Saga as one of my favorite X-Men epics.

When is Shadowland coming to Secret Wars?

I hope Polaris has a decent role in this.

Kris Anka is one of the worst artists I have ever seen.

Everyone has a different experience. I find the toned downed, subdued style of his art to work really well in the context of what he's been doing. The thing I loved about All-New X-Factor was character interaction but also the monochromatic color pallets and clean art. If you're talking about his faces specifically, I think they are overall kind of too similar, or if you don't like his panel composition/storytelling that's personal preference, but to just say an artist sucks and not give a reasoning behind it sure feels like a cry for attention and sort of begging for an argument.

Mh, and now they announce another secret wars tie-in that sounds interesting... Eating gets overrated anyways, I can raise my comic book budget.

@bluejay2324: You're right. It was a bit of attention seeking. It is the faces and his body propositions that I have a real problem with. His faces all look the same and his style looks really flat in my opinion. Is that a good enough reason for you?

So like a "What if?"--What if House of M was never figured out and actually let mutants prosper? Sounds cool.

His straight forward shots of faces are pretty consistent, and I do prefer most of his faces like that, but it's when he does anything besides that like an overhead shot or a profile that I'm taken out of the moment. As of right now we don't know if this is going to change at all or be remedied by some time between titles, I'm not sure he's been working on anything since A-N X-Factor end, but the cover of this Secret Wars tie-in reminds me why I first liked his work.
