    “EXILES.” Dan Maddox tells the story of growing up with the Warlord, Travis Morgan, before he crashed in Skartaris! “THE SECRET ORIGIN OF THE GOLDEN AGE HOURMAN.” Rick Tyler recounts his origin as he writes a letter to his son. Plus, “’MAZING MAN.”

    1. "The Warlord Exiles" written by Michael Fleisher, penciled, inked and lettered by Adam Kubert and colored by Jerry Serpe.
    2. "'Mazing Man" written by Bob Rozakis, penciled by Stephen DeStefano, inked by Karl Kessel, colored by unknown and lettered by Bob Lappan.
    3. "The Secret Origin of the Golden Age Hourman" written by Roy and Dann Thomas, penciled by Michael Bair, inked by Michael Gustovich, colored by Carl Gafford and lettered by Agustin Mas and David Cody Weiss.
    4. "Secrets Behind the Origins Dept.:" 1/3 page text piece on the history of the Hourman by Roy Thomas.

    Note: The Hourman story is based off of Adventure Comics #48. Except for the main characters the rest have cameo appearances.

    The Bronze Age of Comics, roughly from The Death of Gwen Stacy until Crisis on Infinite Earths was an amazing thing. As a Bronze Age DC Comics Batman fan, even the comics I didn't have a chance to read looked awesome. Western Comics, like Jonah Hex; War Comics, like Sgt. Rock; and then, there was Warlord. I never read Mike Grell's Warlord. I did read his Jon Sable, Freelance. Michael Fleisher's Exiles is an enjoyable story. It tells the Warlord origin - or maybe it should be called a pre-origin ...
