This by far has been a great mini-series, a billion times better than Final Crisis. From the start of this issue Bendis sets the stage for one of most missed marvel moments of all time, Avengers assemble!! With stunning art work from Yu, its the best company wide mini out there. Just like previous Marvel minis like House of M, Civil War and Infinity Gauntlet has a story been this exellent! Charicters don't disapoint either, like the new Captain America who stands his ground in the face of skeptics, the reurn of Thor with a crack of thunder, the quips of Spidey and even Hawkeye, bow and arrows ready, to kick some ass! So do your self a favour and pick it up now!

You know why this gets 4 stars? Yu's splash pages.... numerous one, a couple are two pages long. Amazing attention to detail. He has become my favorite artist, hands down. there's not too much I can say about the writing, I enjoyed it, but would rather re-read everything after this arc is completely over. In all honesty the idea the story portrays is really interesting to me, but the story itself isn't. This issue picked up the slack a little bit, but I'm still a little disappointed. Both Final Crisis & S.I. aren't delivering, I'll probably have to read the entire runs, when they come out, in one sitting. As I've said before, Yu's artwork is what keeps me going.

I never knew people would side with those who were determined to kill them. That is until I read a story about a bunch of American College students who went to Afghanastan to help the Taliban, and protest Americas war with them. The use of that here in the story is very practical and wise, and shows how our own sheepish and some times overly guilt ridden ways can lead us to make some bad decissions. Since I have been reading everything with a Secret Invasion banner above the title, I recognise the beginning of the book to be mostly recap. It is mostly a gathering of heroes preparing for the upcoming battle. With a final spread page that is pretty kick ass.

Probably my least favourite issue of this mini-series to date. I have to say that I've genuinely enjoyed Secret Invasion, but then I'm a big fan of both Bendis and Yu. This issue felt a little like a 'holder', with the writer lining up things in place for, perhaps, a big finish. There's more stuff from the Skrulls addressing mankind and all the heroes are gathering in New York for one big, bad fight. On that latter point, I sincerely hope issue 7 isn't just one big battle - I always find those things kinda underwhelming - I prefer small details and stuff revealed in dialogue and individual confrontations. Bendis and Yu had a big fight issue fairly recently in New Avengers and that was one of my least favourite issues of their run. Like Ego, I really enjoyed Yu's big splash pages at the end of this issue - he has a terrific manic energy to his art that I really enjoy. I know not everyone likes him but I think he's the business. My favourite Yu idiosyncracy? The way he draws red bloodlines around his character's eyes. Don't ask me why I like it, I just do. Maybe it's because nobody else does it. One interesting point that I won't elaborate on for those who haven't read it - we find out who 'He' refers to in this issue (from He Loves You). Although it's kind of obvious, it's still interesting in that as a reader, you're thinking, "Ah, so Bendis is going down that road with all this." Put it this way, he's maybe been influenced by Richard Dawkins in his thinking about who influences all kinds of warfare. It'll be interesting to see how much more Bendis does with this.
