The Secret Avengers are a black ops branch of the Avengers assembled by Steve Rogers in the Heroic Age. The team are currently led by Hawkeye and the Black Widow.

As expected, Marvel is continuing to tease us with yet another Secret Avenger. What makes this one different? This guy can fly.
Hmmm...he excels through adversity? The pose first reminds me of Captain Britain, but he hasn't been wearing the helmet lately. He has shown up just recently when Paul Cornell blogged about the return of Cap Britain. He's even almost doing the same pose. Could it be him? Has he gone through enough adversity to make a quote about it.

@badog: I was sorta thinking of a slimmed down Iron Man but we know he's gonna be on the regular team. War Machine could be a contender but he'd need a place to hide his gun.
If it IS Captain Britain then i will be buying this series for sure.
It would be pretty cool to have MI13 as part of the Secret Avengers trying to help america sort out its problems after the whole dark reign thing as it never touched Britain (as far as i know).
Also it would make sense as i've been thinking for a while that one of the other Secret Avengers pictures looked like it could be brother voodoo
@G-Man: wow totally before i even read i thought Captain Britain. Not really a lot of helmet wear flying people without capes...but that would be stupid right? It was one thing when the female Captain Britain joined briefly but Brian Braddock is busy ruling Otherworld now isnt he? And missing his wife Meggan (because doesnt he think she dead but she isnt? i could be wrong about that one). Lets also remember that its not necessarily a character we are familiar with. It could be a new characer completely or a revamp of an old one.
Since the Dark X-men will most likely disband by the end of the mini because of Siege, why not Omega? He's the only one in that group that really seems to want to redeem himself.

A lot has happened since then. Brian is no longer able to contact Otherworld and Albion is now in charge of the Captain Britain Corps. He's been working with MI13 as Britain's version of government backed Avengers since the Skrull Invasion. Meggan is now back in the land of the living having been trapped in another dimension/hell and is calling herself Gloriana. She's taken control of her life and her appearance is now no longer shaped by the people around her. She has also joined Brian in MI13. So yeah.... it very well could be Cap B. Although yes he has lost the helmet look (which had been a mask before it was a helmet for those wondering). I'd be well chuffed if it is Captain Britain and i do recall hearing a rumor when the MI13 run ended that he would be appearing in the avengers. That was a long while ago now though.

That would be amazing!! I was thinking vision myself but i just realized he has no cape. Not sure who it is maybe marvel boy? He is being watched by steve rogers and cap america in dark avengers annual and they mention him that hes on their side. Ya my guess is for marvel boy.
Noh Varr surely - he has genetic diversity INSIDE HIM for goodness sake - Cap Brit's a good call but for cryin out loud bring his mask/helmet back. I really preferred his NEW EXCALIBUR look - somethin along the lines of a suit of armor - http://www.comicvine.com/captain-britain/29-7477/earth-616-captain-britain/108-417/66030-captain-britain/105-203885/ i just LOVE that pose btw...and the suit is much more remarkable - a more realistic version of the classic.
excalibur had many a diverse team in ethnicity and power sets so why not? "I excel through diversity" suits him
I agree with some of you guys here that it could be Noh-Varr. I mean, both Caps were thinking about recruiting him or asking for his help at the end of Dark Avengers Annual.
Vision use to wear a cape. It could be Cap britain but I'm not sure, he doesn't wears the helmet now (if you see images from the last x-calibur volume, you can apreciate he has a helmet).
Only to throw a new name to the list: this musculature reminds me to Namor...

Yea,but Noh-Varr's mask has a fin at the top.There's no fin here.Plus Noh-Varr is supposed to have a role elsewhere so I don't see how he's going to be an Avenger.
