A Big Disappointment so Far?

#1 Edited by Jake Fury (18615 posts) - - Show Bio

Has anyone else been disappointed with the series so far? I really don't feel like any of the supporting characters have gotten any attention from Brubaker at all. It just feels like the Steve Rogers and friends book. Except none of the friends actually get any face time. I can't even recall Moon Knight uttering a single sentence in the entire series.

The first arc was somewhat enjoyable. However, issue 5 with Fury's LMD felt like filler and I don't think that was needed in only the fiftH issue of a series. The new arc with Shang Chi & Prince Of Orphans isn't interesting to me so far in any way, shape or form.

Yes and just for the exact reason that you've stated. Where is the team in this team book?

I think I had my hopes way too high to start with.

@Jake Fury:
Same. I mean I love the cast of characters. MK, Rogers, Black Widow, and War Machine are some of my favorites. Just wish I got to see them...

@IrishX:
Valkyrie said more in her guest appearance in Avengers Academy than she's said in this entire book so far.

  I'm feeling the same way, not to mention my question of why Nova was in it knowing that he was going to have to go off and deal with Thanos Imperative (besides the obvious reason to see Nova Captain or whatever we want to call Steve Rogers when we had the Nova Force). Nova and Moon Knight are my favorite characters, which is why I started reading the book, now I'm questioning it. It feels like they wanted to give Rodgers his own book, but still make money off the Avengers name.

It's a good book, it just needs to be a bit more about the characters other than Steve and Sharon. The actual story arcs are pretty decent though.

Same. Mostly because my subscription ran out, but also because it's a waste of time and money.

Ok, I can admit when I'm wrong. I've liked the latest arc with Shang Chi but I still want more action from Beast, Moon Knight & Black Widow.

I personally like how he writes Ant-Man, he's a jerk trying to be a hero...while still being a jerk in the process.

I've liked it more than the other current  Avengers books, so far. It's not great, especially when compared to Brubaker's other stuff,, but it's decent enough. I was just expecting more super-villain action.
