    Review: Secret Avengers #3 0

The Secret Avengers' "mission to Mars" uncovers secrets behind the Serpent Society's crown that trace its existence all the way back to the beginning of time.  The Good I remember when Deodato unveiled his new style with Witches, however many years back, and his art continues to be so slick and moody, I want to see how he renders every character in the Marvel universe. Here, he makes the surface of Mars look like such a foreboding and dangerous place... you really buy that the Secret Avengers a...

    Secret Avengers Issue 3 1

Well, I have to say, I was a tad underwhelmed by this issue. I mean, I love Ed Brubaker, nice guy, great writer, and to be honest I want him to write Captain America and all related properties for the next ten years. That being said, this issue left me a bit disappointed. And you know why? Where were my Ant-Man and Moon Knight!?!? Grr...   The issue starts with a flashback to the good ol' days of Southern America post Civil War. Here we meet a Major Thorndrake. Remember the name cause you'll be...

Ok, so here is issue three of what started out as my new favourite Avengers title. This was also the only one I was reading at the time. I`ve just starting the main Avengers book and that is about as good, but for different reasons. Now issue three of this book was ok, it did not have me craving more as the first two issues of this book did. There was a lot of explainations for things I honestly did not care too much about. What I`m talking about is this Archon guy and other creatures of ...

We star this issue in the old west as see Thordrake lived int he old west and this means that he at least 100 years old after finding something called the "Abyss",then we see Eric going to trippy space and thinking to himself that he's problably going to get kicked off the Avengers because of this. The we see Beast and Steve fighting the Construct but the battle stopped because Steve told the Construct he doesn't have it and that he never lies. Then we see Valkyrie fighting some Shadow Councill go...

    Yep, that's Mars alright... 0

It's no secret that this latest offshoot of Marvel's Avengers series has loads of potential.  With such an interesting line-up of characters (led by none other than former Captain America, Steve Rogers) and a great premise, this should be one of the best series out there.  The problem that Secret Avengers has is it feels like a series that's been going on for quite some time, and that readers are jumping into a rather slow series of events for the team.  The gist of the story and concepts in Sec...

"Your Nova will break this world" 0

Be sure to check out my review of Secret Avengers #3.  100 Words Or LessSteve Rogers and Beast meet the Archon, who reveals to them that Mars was once a lush environment with an atmosphere not unlike that of Earth's. The Archons were built to prevent the awakening of the Dark Children and that is exactly what Nova is trying to do. Meanwhile, Ant-Man is revealed to have gone through a portal called the Vanishing Point and ends up at the Shadown Council Citadel. Valkyrie does battle with Nova, onl...

The first story arc in the Secret Avengers is closing in on its finale and thus far the action and plot has been pretty strong.  The team is still spread out over Mars (with a couple of others on Earth) but the truth is becoming evident to them.  It was interesting to see a bit of background for the forces working against them, but this is mostly a big fight to stop the possessed Nova.  Joining the ranks of the heroes is Archon, an automaton designed exactly for that purpose, but he is no more s...
