    In this issue, Black Widow breaks into the offices of a muckraking tabloid doing a story about the recent death of an Avenger. What results is a lengthy meditation on the different meanings of the death of a superhero and the death of a normal person.

    This is one of those weird issues where the writers sort of want to break the fourth wall, but they do so instead by having a superfluous character engage the lead character in a debate.  The debate ostensibly revolves around two topics, comic book character death as well as making money off of the likeness of a character.  The second point was accurate enough, if maybe a little out of place in an issue where there is product placement in one of the panels (a Harley Davidson sign sneaks its way ...

    Secret Avengers #15 Ok so I think it's safe to say that many comics released as "Fear itself tie-ins" have not lived up to their names. Let's be honest, the big companies "marvel in this case" slap big arcs across so many different titles to rack in the dough! Not all of them are gonna make a dent in the over all plot to the big arc. This issue is a perfect example of not being a tie-in but still being a pretty damn good issue. So anyway the issue is totally centered in the office of this hot go...

    This issue is one big rant.  A long-winded, nearly 4th-wall-breaking rant.  It's all about the philosophical implications of death in the superhero world, versus death in the normal civilian world.  And that's a very interesting concept to see so thoroughly explored in a mainstream superhero title.  It's ironic, it's ballsy... and it's really, REALLY boring.  I couldn't quite believe what I was reading (in a good way), and yet, at the same time,  I dearly wanted it to just be over.  I really and...
