    Yay, it's a team book again! 0

One of my complaints about the most recent arc was what I felt was an overfocus on Steve Rogers and John "Generic Supersoldier" Steel. This issue remedies that in a big way. Yes, this is Beast's story, no doubt, but War Machine and Ant-Man get plenty of screen time too. That said, this is a Beast heavy story, as he has to "rescue" an old friend in the house of representatives from the first volley of Fear Itself attacks. The representative Beast meets is not only a truly fleshed out character, h...

The Lincoln Monument is Pretty Angry 9

The Lincoln Monument stands up and punches a mech driven by a Nazi. Much more than this happened in issue 13 of Secret Avengers, but that's all that I can think about right now.The GoodFirst thing's first. In this issue, there was a scene, which is totally my favorite of the year so far, where the statue of Abraham Lincoln gets out of his seat and punches a mech driven by a Nazi. In context, it's just as awesome. I'm not going to tell you why or how this happens, but trust me, it's the coolest s...

ABRAHAM LINCOLN STATUE SMASH BAD NAZI ROBOTS!!!! 2

This is in fact, not only the best fear itself itself tie-ins and the best and most awesome issue of this series!!! (screw the main team!! even if bendis is the one responsible for that) The armies of the new red skull are invading Washington and to help on the defense, members of the secret avengers: beast, war machine (aka iron man 2.0) and ant-man are sent to support as we see a great battle that seems hopeless as it goes, three heroes as awesome as they are can't alone defeat these enemies....

Just like Battle of the Smithsonian but cooler. 1

Issue #13 of Secret Avengers, also I haven't actually watched Night at the Musuem 2 only the first one.  The Story: Right after Fear Itself #2 the giant nazi robots are attacking Washington D.C some the SA jump in and Beast goes and meets up with one of his old friends.  The Good: Lincoln Memorial punching nazi mecha, how is that not awesome ? Also all of the other stuff in the Smithsonian come out and fight to wich is awesome. This is a Beast story, wich I am glad since I like Beast a lot and h...

    Fear in Secret. 1

Secret Avengers #13 Hey everyone so this is my last review for the day so I hope everyone enjoys! Ok so this issue opens up pretty high paced. So these Nazi robots are attacking Washington D.C. so Warmachine, Beast, and Ant-Man answer Steve's call to protect Washington D.C. As this goes on Hank is told by a woman that their commander wants to see him. Hank is then told by the commander that a member of the House of Representatives ,Leonard Gary, wants to see Hank. They were once friends. Leonard...

Is Ben Stiller Making a Cameo? 0

Judging on what other people have posted, I may draw some fire for this, but we are here to share and experience different opinions right?  The Good  I have been waiting for Secret Avengers to hit its stride and I think that both the 12.1 issues and 13 help do that.  What a relief to move away from the John Steele business.  Also, how interesting is it that we see three Avengers that you would not necessarily see working together.  War Machine (aka Iron Man 2.0), Ant-Man (O'Grady version), and o...

Time for Action, not speeches! 3

Between a terrible narrative, where Beast, Ant-Man and War Machine must prevent the total fall of the White House, and before it´s conquered by Sin´s forces, a congressman named Leonard Gary calls for his old friend Hank McCoy for a last democratic television transmission, this issue was marked for bad dialogues, weird continuity (Sharon appears from nowhere, the fact that Leonard knew that Hanks would show up in the site, the list goes on), a story without an objective or a true purpose, a stor...

I want to help you 0

Some say that this series thus far has been focusing too much on Steve Rogers and not enough on the other characters.  This can however go both ways as here where the emphasis shifts to Beast the story is at times kind of dissolute and not very well conceived.  A group of armoured soldiers are attacking Washington DC but Beast is drawn into the house of congress to meet with an old friend.  In so doing there is a bit of a retelling of his friends background, but there is also a heavy use of othe...
