So after the dust has settled for a few weeks and having thought it over, I can't help but think that we as fans of comics in general and fans of x-men comics were cheated. I know that despite not really knowing what to expect I did have a few guesses as to what would happen.
1) We would get to know about Hope's origin. (didn't reall happen)
2) We would see a lot of people die (Happened)
3) We would see the end to the Bastion plot (jury's still out)
4) We would see the death of Cable (Definitley happened)
5) We would see Hope's powers manifest (We did, but I'm still not sure what the hell her powers are)
6) Hope get hit by someone and that manifests her phoenix force, thus reigniting Jean Grey (Maybe, but I'll classify this as jury's still out)
So roughly about half of my expectations were met, but I was really hoping more of these would get wrapped up being as hyped as Second Coming has. That said I'm excited what a post-Second Coming X-verse will lead to
Second Coming
The third part of the Messiah Trilogy cross-over stories that started in Messiah CompleX & continued in Messiah War. Second Coming heralds the long-awaited return of Hope Summers & Cable to the present day.
Scammed on Second Coming...?
UXM 526 has a nice story on some of Hope's origin.
the thing about comic books is that they're ongoing so they don't have to give all of the answers to everything in one issue
1) We would get to know about Hope's origin. (didn't reall happen) - we already know her origin...she was born in a small alaska town and is the sole survivor after the Marauders and Bastion's men killed everyone there when her powers manifested
3) We would see the end to the Bastion plot (jury's still out) Hope killed him
6) Hope get hit by someone and that manifests her phoenix force, thus reigniting Jean Grey (Maybe, but I'll classify this as jury's still out) what???
1) there is still some mystery to her origin and I`d rather know it all.
3)I read the issue where Hope destroys Bastion but I`m just wondering why he waas featured on the new x-men poster by marko djurdevic
6) I was ``Hoping`` they would explain Hope`s connection to Jean somewhere in Second Coming

As far as I've heard that's all just fan speculation.
creators and editors have been teasing it since before messiah complex and I`d just rather have the teasing over and get a straight answer on what the connection is or not.
Yeah, I was really enjoying the stuff where Cable and Hope were on the run and everyone was trying to get to them.

2. there were a few dead characters and characters in old costumes....it's just a pretty poster it doesn't mean anything
6. like greenskin said...they may have teased a little bit but so far any connection to Jean has only been fan speculation
@Edamame: It's almost like an apples versus oranges comparison. The first third was all the excitement that and the Alpha team chasing Hope + Cable to get them to Utopia. The final act was all about the action and the big payoffs at the end. I think it was a great crossover though. That said the middle did end up lacking a little bit. I believe the Hardcover collection is coming out the end of next month.
@danhimself : I'm not even replying to your comment because no matter what I said you'll just quote and knock down what I say.
I still believe that the red hair, and green eyes is there to fool people about her being "connected" to Jean Grey.
