    GAME OVER!

I will still argue that the movie should of been called Scott Pilgrim's "Precious Life", since that is the name of the first book and it really is the whole importance of the book series and movie of the "Precious Life" of Scott Pilgrim.  [Little fact that the working title was"Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life", so why change it?]

I was also really skeptical when I heard this movie was being produced, I just didn't think that the pages of the book would  translate properly in to screen.  I will never doubt Edger Wright again.  The man is 3 for 3 with me from Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and now SP he is nothing but Aces.

    Pros:

    • Great adaptation.  Fairly faithful to the book, the changes made I agree with like the Double Dragons over Giant Robots.
    • Anna Kendrick and Mary Elizabeth Winstead both make my heart flutter like a teenager again.
    • Funny, Very Funny.
    • Great action scenes
    • Real locations, filmed on set of the actual areas.
    • Great pop-culture/product placement: From Adidas everywhere to Zelda sound bits in the right places.
    • Great Music.
    • DUDE WHO PLAYED SUPERMAN is STILL SUPER!
    • DUDE WHO played HUMAN TORCH is still SMOKING AWESOME!

    Cons:
    • Bad Wigs!
    • Not enough Anna Kendrick.
    • Maybe crammed too much where whose who have not read the books may get lost in translation. A lot is happening at once and it is at times like reading a comic, playing a video game and watching a movie all at once.  It is definitely a movie for the late 70s to 80s+ raised people.  If you never played NES... then this movie may likely will loose you.

    Verdict:
I loved it!  I've been reading SP for at least 4 years now and this movie did not disappoint.  If you liked the Scott Pilgrim series then trust me you like  this movie.  If you haven't read the books it maybe hit or miss depending on your social conditioning.  This movie really plays into the way society has programed us to recognize things like "3 stripes" I don't have to tell you means "Adidas" or what the Fantastic Four's logo is... even with a 1/2 vandalized in it you recognize it hopefully.

This last part of the review is for those who read the series and hopefully my review for book 6 ( HERE).  If you haven't read the series the review is done and skip to me saying "Cheers!".  This area may also be full of spoilers.

At the End of the night, Scott Pilgrim is a fun movie.  Full of great things that most comic readers also grew up on. It will be Hit or Miss because of its High level of product placement and familiar soundbites to us Technology drive generation.

5/5 STARS from me because I read between the lines.
    Cheers!

When it comes to Scott Pilgrim, I think it's safe to say that me and he have an interesting history. You see, I wasn't exactly the biggest fan of the books when I first attempted to read them. The styling of the characters wasn't my favorite artistically, the characters kinda bugged me, and it just wasn't that great. I tried to get into it, failed, tried again, read books one and half of two, and then put it down for a couple months. Then I cam back to it and learned the error of my ways. The bo...

So, I finally caught up with this movie, and I really enjoyed it. Not being schooled by the graphic novels first, I had no idea that basically the writers wanted to make a video game with a full fledged story rather than a movie with a thin story. What you get is kind of a mix of the two, that will probably be either loved or hated. I can't imagine too many fence sitter with this film. This is a very styalised action comedy. Thankfully to me it worked on all three levels. The risk that Edgar W...
