Scott Pilgrim take it or leave it 0

Well, I had a free pass to see an advance screening of Scott Pilgrim. I thought this might be worth wasting a few hours so I went and saw it. and I have to say Scott Pilgrim was a good movie. Let me first start off by saying I have never even read the book it's based on so I can't tell you if the movie closely relates to the film or not, but coming into the story I can honestly say I would be interested in reading it. The story is pretty much everywhere including in the movie description so ther...

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World Movie Review 0

When it comes to Scott Pilgrim, I think it's safe to say that me and he have an interesting history. You see, I wasn't exactly the biggest fan of the books when I first attempted to read them. The styling of the characters wasn't my favorite artistically, the characters kinda bugged me, and it just wasn't that great. I tried to get into it, failed, tried again, read books one and half of two, and then put it down for a couple months. Then I cam back to it and learned the error of my ways. The bo...

A short review 0

In the first american film of one of my favorite directors,  Edgar Wright , brings the tale of a love. I think the movie lived up the hype that was aiming and its one of my fav movie of this year. Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) a young man who is a loser (no job, no house, no respect for the other exes he had) and a A-hole. As we see in the movie we see Pilgrim asuming responsability of his past mistakes in process to earn the love of a mysterios new girl named Ramona Flowers. The action sequ...

I will still argue that the movie should of been called Scott Pilgrim's "Precious Life", since that is the name of the first book and it really is the whole importance of the book series and movie of the "Precious Life" of Scott Pilgrim.  [Little fact that the working title was"Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life", so why change it?]     I was also really skeptical when I heard this movie was being produced, I just didn't think that the pages of the book would  translate properly in to screen. ...

Almost Perfect 0

So, I finally caught up with this movie, and I really enjoyed it. Not being schooled by the graphic novels first, I had no idea that basically the writers wanted to make a video game with a full fledged story rather than a movie with a thin story. What you get is kind of a mix of the two, that will probably be either loved or hated. I can't imagine too many fence sitter with this film. This is a very styalised action comedy. Thankfully to me it worked on all three levels. The risk that Edgar W...

Scott Pilgrim vs my opinion 0

Scott Pilgrim vs the World what have I to say about this film? Hmm. Well i guess I am a little wishy washy but I'd say it's pretty average. I liked the film in some parts but in others it sort of seemed to be lagging off for me and my interest. But over all I found it to be a  nice, quirky, funny, action packed adventure as Scott Pilgrim fights 6 ex boyfriends and one ex girlfriend to get the girl of his dreams Ramona. I would recommend this film it's a tad differant from the common variety of fi...

BOO Scott Pilgrim!!! 0

This review is probably the lowest starred review on the Scott Pilgrim vs The World page. And I don't care, because this movie is no way near as good as people claim it to be in my opinion. A very overrated flick from a director who's work is usually outstanding. I would like to point out that I've never read the Scott Pilgrim comic books. I'm going at this movie on its own merits, so if anyone who comments to this review saying  things like "Oh, but in the comic this happens", then I'm sorry. M...

Awesome adaption of the comics which is also extremely funny. 0

Words to describe Scott Pilgrim vs the World: Epic. Awesome. Funny. Hilarious. Random. Unique. Edgar Wright is something of a genius when it comes to making movies, and Scott Pilgrim is no exception. Most of the content comes from the original books, but the things that have been changed are a better fit for a movie. The story is basically about a 23 year old guy called Scott Pilgrim who tries to win the heart of Ramona Flowers, but to do that, he must defeat her seven evil exes, who are determi...

well that suprised me. 0

I've never even heard about scott pilgrim before i seen this movie, so i didn't know what to expect. I was pretty suprised at how well the movie turned out to be. It was not bad, it was really good.  The fights were pretty cool. And the acting was not bad. All in all really good movie....

Scott Pilgrim v Me 0

It took a bit of convincing from Dan, but eventually I read the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels.  I knew right away that this was a book written for people like me.  Just like Dr Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, people older or younger than me would never get the full appreciation of all the references.  I thoroughly hated the eponymous protagonist until I got near the end of the book and realized why he was so annoying.  So, once my brother got the movie on Blu-ray, I knew it’d be just a matter of tim...

Finally, A Video Game Movie That Doesn't Suck! 0

First let me say that I had no particular knowledge of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World prior to it being made into a feature film. I mean, yes, I’m a comic fan, and yes, I’d seen the graphic novels lining bookstore shelves in the past, but it pretty much looked like manga, and I didn’t want to chance it given - as we all know - 90% of all manga is crap.  So I tended to associate the film more with video games, based on the way it was marketed – a reasonable assumption given the subject matter. Once ...

Scotty takes on the evil exes. 0

Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is a 22 year old who's part of a band called Sex Bob-omb. He begins dating a 17 year old Chinese high school student named Knives Chau (Ellen Wong), but his heart completely melts when he sets eyes on another girl by the name of Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Eventually they hook-up, however, Ramona comes with some serious baggage that manages to complicate Scott's life. -summaryScott Pilgrim vs. The World is a movie that I remember putting off for a very ...
