Scorpion from mk has never looked Asian IMO he has always looked black or Hispanic and I am very curious because in the new mk X he looks black. I have have asked this question with my friend andn some say hes white some say es Asian some say he is black and some say he isn't any of them hes just a spectre. and of course when ever he takes off his mask fully he is just a skull so im very conmfused.

P.S. don't bring up the movie BS because those movies were horribly cast radien was white and hes asian

He is from Japan. Some characters in MK have varying skin colors throughout the series though.

Originally he seemed white in color, but around the UMK3 era he got a more tan complexion. I think he is Japanese and then just got a crazy tan from spending time in the Netherrealm since there is so much fire around lol maybe since the fire there doesn't blister and burn his skin like fire would to a normal person it tans it instead lmao

Yeah that is true but I have seen plenty of Caucasian people with broad noses as well. It's kind of a mystery. Idk , he is from Japan, his birth name is Hanzo Hasashi, and he was part of a ninja clan called the Shirai ryu, I think he was/is intended to be a Japanese man. I don't think anybody knows his actual ethnicity though.

I just looked up sub zero and scorpion on the mk wki when u go to appearance it specifically states what sub zero is(Chinese American) but for scorpion it doesn't

Lol yeah to me, he is just a Japanese guy with a tan. People have similar debates about Ermac and Jade. I remember on another MK based site there was an entire thread called "Jade is NOT black!" or something along those lines lmao Some people want their favorite characters to be like them. Joe from the Angry Joe show asked Steve Beran (I think it was Beran) from Netherrealm if Ermac was Hispanic because in either UMK3 or MKT he had a darker complexion and I think Steve Beran acknowledged this and the dude was so hyped that somebody credible confirmed he could be Hispanic lol (Joe is Hispanic)

Lol idk if Steve was being serious or not it's hard to tell but he is part of the MK team so until somebody who overrides him (Ed Boon) says otherwise then yeah I guess its safe to say he is Hispanic lol

Well if we go by physical features than he just as easily can be considered Caucasian, if you look at that MK1 picture I posted you can see the side of his head/face completely unmasked and that is the face of Daniel Pesina and he appears to be Caucasian, also the man that portrayed him in UMK3 (John Turk) is Caucasian as well.

Lol well Cyrax isn't any kind of name, just sounds like a robotic/cyborg name to me, same with Sektor. Anyway yeah the same could be said for the Shiria Ryu but to me personally, Scorpion doesn't look very black just tan. But yeah everyone is free to believe what they want, I just think he is Japanese.

Somebody with a twitter should just tweet Ed Boon and ask him, worst case scenario he just doesn't reply.

I'm quite certain he's meant to be Asian but I guess we'll never know for sure. It doesn't seem like Boon is all that interested in delving too deeply into any character's backstory.
