An American actress, Scarlett Johansson was born in New York as the elder of twins. Initially a stage performer, she made her film debut at age 14 in the Elijah Wood movie North. She got a star on the Walk of Fame on May 2, 2012.

Scarlett Johansson's first role in a comic book film was in 2001, where she played Rebecca Doppelmeyer in the film adaptation of Daniel Clowes' Ghost World. The film was well received by critics, and nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 74th Academy Awards.
In 2008, Johansson starred alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the Frank Miller-directed film, The Spirit-- based on the Will Eisner series of the same name. She played the villainous Silken Floss, an accomplice of the Octopus.
Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff
Johansson is likely best known for her role as Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She first played Romanoff in Iron Man 2, which was also the character's first appearance on the big screen. She later reprised her role in both The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
She is slated to return in the 2015 sequel to The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
