cavemold's Scarlet Spider #7 - The Second Master, Pt. 1 review

The Good : Pham art is right on beat with Ryan's art. So , there was no drop off . Things start off with a bang in more ways than one. When Kaine wants answers he won't call , or knock as the Donald's find out. I want to make a good note this scene with the two male cops is how you do " gay couple scene" Felt very normal and not forced. So cheers to Mr. Yost. Kaine well... Is still stuck in the 20th century techonlogy speaking... Which in some sense is ridiculous and some sense quite funny. If Kaine thinks finding answer about RoxxonThe was going be easy ... Chuck Norris and his rangers have somthing say about that. The bad : a set up issue was expecting more about the Kravin hunter daughter or seeing Kravin himself. I'm hoping this for shadowing.

So many things I loved in this issue. The first being the insanely cool cover-it might just be one of my favourite covers ever. The rest of the issue held up pretty nicely as well, though it definitely felt like the beginning of a new story arc; that is, a lot of build up, and a cliffhanger ending. Yost still managed to pile on the action though, and as with all prior issues of Scarlet Spider, it was an almost seamless blend of action and storytelling. Khoi Pham also came on for his first issue ...
