Scarlet Spider vs. Venom
I have been enjoying the Scarlet Spider series so far and am enjoying seeing another anti hero in Marvel. I also liked the start of this Minimum Carnage crossover and was looking forward to seeing Scarlet Spider vs. Venom.
This issue sees Venom and Scarlet Spider square off after the end of the Minimum Carnage Alpha issue. Before the fight properly kicks in Flash looses control of the Venom symbiote and becomes full Venom trying to eat Scarlet Spider. Scarlet Spider tries everything he can to drop Venom including shooting him with his own gun which doesn't work. Eventually after the fight Flash who is in control of the symbiote once more and Scarlet Spider go to the Microverse in search of Carnage.
This was a really good issue and it is taking this crossover story to another level. I was a bit disappointed not to see as much of Carnage in this issue but the Venom/Scarlet Spider fight and the fact Flash lost control of the symbiot during the fight totally made up for that. I also liked how Scarlet Spider was still the main character, even though it was during this crossover, and Venom was highly involved in the issue, as it's his book and It's disappointing when main characters are underused during crossovers. I also liked how Venom was expecting more from Scarlet Spider and how Scarlet Spider put him in his place saying he's not Spider-Man (like he always does to anyone who sees him as a hero).
Final verdict. This was an amazing comic and a great continuation of the Minimum Carnage story. I would highly recommend it and I am looking forward to Venom #26 next week. I would also say that this is a great jumping on point for the series as you don't need to know what has happened previous issues (although I would advise getting Minimum Carnage: Alpha #1 first).
