Saya was born with a small ability to be a yumemi. So she had a weak health. She met at High School Kyogo Mono and Toru Shiro. She felt in love with Toru. Knowing that the person who would be with the priest of Togakushi Shrine would die for the son of Toru, Saya accepted to date with Kyogo and she became his wife. They had two children: Fuma Mono and Kotori Mono.

Death

When Saya meets again Toru, she explained her she is married with Kyogo. She did that for Toru. She knew that a woman must sacrifice at Togakushi Shrine in order to give birth to the Sacred Sword. She accepted to do a loveless marriage for the person she loves. She accepts to die at the Togakushi Shrine instead of Toru. She gives birth to the sacred sword for her.

Damnation

In 1999, Kotori falls into a catatonic state. She has another vision. She falls under the Sea of Tears and meets her mother with the appearance of a siren. Saya reveals she is a siren because she is a sinner. She accepted to do a loveless marriage for the person she loves. She accepted to die at the Togakushi Shrine instead of Toru. She gave birth to the sacred sword for her. She tells Kotori she will die for the person she loves. Saya is damned to stay there whereas her daughter sinks more and more.
