Finally! The real Wolverine!
The only Wolverine book that has been worth reading has been Wolverine and the X-Men but you get the tempered, father-figure Wolverine. He's alot more kid friendly. Don't get me wrong. The series is pretty good but not the Wolverine we need...=P
The first spread where Wolverine shows up NAILED IT! Wolverine is being held back back 3 Avengers because he wants to take the head off of a surrendered enemy for melting half his face off. Him and Cap exchange words as the Cap tries to calm Wolverine down. That was perfect and simple execution on the part of Zeb and Joe, who also sound like a comic book dynamic duo. I had to read that spread several times because of how perfect it was.
The story on a whole is so enjoyable. Zeb really know how to write for each character and Joe makes every panel look so cool you can't put this book down. The interactions between super heros are fun. Especially a page between a chatty Peter Parker Spider-Man and Elektra is great. I wish more books were this entertaining.
The greatest part about this book is that it's a Wolverine book that gets the character right! One problem I've noticed is how to show that Wolverine has gone into a berserker rage. I read it but I don't see it. Here Zeb gives this familiar attribute enough voice to pop your interest and then Joe make you believe it when you see it!
