Man a weekend without a new Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon was weird. I kept feeling like I forgot to watch it. Things should get interesting this Saturday though to make up for it.
Here, here … the gang's all here … with a slightly revised Sinister Six putting Spider-Man to the ultimate test in "Group Therapy," an all-new episode of "The Spectacular Spider-Man" premiering this Saturday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m. ET/PT on CW4Kids.
"Group Therapy" starts quickly and never slows. With Electro's help, Doctor Octopus busts himself, Vulture, Sandman, Rhino and Shocker outof Ryker's Island prison to quench their mutual desire for revenge. Even with his new black alien symbiote suit, Spider-Man finds the
Sinister Six are more than he can handle. Peter Parker might wish for an easier way out of this predicament … but be careful what you wish
for, Pete.
"Group Therapy" is the third "The Spectacular Spider-Man" episode written by Andrew Robinson this season. Jennifer Coyle previously
directed Doc Ock's premiere episode, "Reaction," and takes her relationship with the character to new heights in "Group Therapy."
Prior to the premiere of "Group Therapy," CW4Kids will air a repeat of Sandman's debut episode, "Competition," at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT.

Ouch. You'ld think that punching Sandman's face would have to be hard on the knuckles. It'd probably tear Spidey's costume. It's funny when my daughter and I saw the first episode and they showed Marko, I told her that he becomes Sandman. She remembered him from when we watched the episode from the Spider-Man '67 dvd. She remembered that I told her that "sometimes he's nice." I don't think he's going to be too nice in this episode.
Punching sand doesn't quite have the desired impact ... as Spider-Man discovers this weekend in "Competition," an all-new episode of "The Spectacular Spider-Man." The episode, which introduces Sandman to the new series' canon of villains, debuts Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. ET/PT on Kids' WB! on The CW.

I can't imagine getting hit by a solid sand fist. Can't imagine it'd be too enjoyable. What if it was hot outside too? You know what it's like trying to walk on hot sand, imagine getting hit by it...
The first official image of Sandman -- this weekend's premiering villain on "The Spectacular Spider-Man." The
all-new episode, entitled, "Competition," debuts Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. ET/PT on Kids' WB! on The CW.
The synopsis for "Competition":
Peter Parker and Harry Osborn try out for the football team – and become a bit obsessed with going for the glory. Flint Marko, newly
transformed into the Sandman, is out for glory too – at the expense of our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man! John Dimaggio ("Futurama," "Kim Possible") supplies the voice of Flint Marko/Sandman, while Dr. Otto Octavius and Norman Osborn are voiced, respectively, by Peter MacNicol ("24") and Alan Rachins ("L.A. Law").
"Competition" is written by Kevin Hopps and directed by Troy Admonitis.

It's about time. We've seen Marko a bunch of times already getting trounced by Spidey. Looks like he's finally going to get a chance to stand up to Spider-Man. Hopefully Spidey won't regret all the taunting he's given him. It's almost like he's challenged him to get "better." Doc Ock is also making his first appearance too. Probably just as Octavius. I have to say the CW has a hit here. Both Lil' G-Girl and myself look forward to this each weekend.
Here's what this week's episdoe is about.
It doesn't get any easier for our web-slinging hero as Sandman makes his first appearance on "The Spectacular Spider-Man" this weekend on Kids' WB! on The CW. The episode, entitled, "Competition," debuts Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. ET/PT.

I'll probably have more images later this week so stay tuned.

As if having a starring role in Spider-Man 3 and playing a major role in the recent issues of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man comics, now Sandman appears to be getting the spotlight in FNSM Annual #1.
One of Spider-Man’s classic foes returns in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Annual #1, as readers are treated to Sandman: Year One, featuring the origin of the Sandman. The man who would become Flint Marko, and later the villainous Sandman, wasn’t always a bad seed, so what set him down this path? And how does Spider-Man figure into it? These answers, and more, arrive in a story by fan-favorite writer Peter David and artists Ronan Cliquet, which shows the Sandman in quite a different light than ever before! Then in a backup tale by David and artist Colleen Doran, you’ll be moved by this story about a homeless girl who loves Spider-Man in a story entitled “LEAH.”
With a sensational battle between Spider-Man and Sandman, new secrets revealed about Flint Marko, a touching tale of love and a dynamite creative team, how can you say no to the double-sized Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Annual #1?
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #1 (MAR072068)
Written by PETER DAVID
Pencils by RONAN CLIQUET & COLLEEN DORAN
Cover by BARRY KITSON
Rated A …$3.99
FOC - 5/3, On-Sale - 5/23/2007
I' ve enjoyed Sandman's appearances in Friendly Neighborhood... Peter David does a great job fleshing out characters' personalities. With Spider-Man and Sandman working together, it had a "buddy cop" movie feel to it. You wouldn't normally expect them to get along and they don't. They don't really like each other but can put aside their differences for a greater good. I am curious to see what Peter David will do with Sandman's background.

IGN has a bunch of video clips for Spider-Man 3, including Eddie Brock turning into Venom for the first time and a fight scene with Sandman. It's hard to not watch them. Man, I cannot wait. I'm taking the day off. Gotta see it in IMAX.
