I have to admit, had it been me, I probably would have been equally as excited as she seemed to be in the latest interview with Sci Fi! Mila Kunis, best known for her comedic acting roles (That '70s Show and last year's Forgetting Sarah Marshall, for example) has really delved into a new genre with her role in the upcoming film, "The Book Of Eli." Following the success of the panel at comic con, and the fantastic poster that was made by comic book artist Chris Weston, I thought it would be worth reporting.

"I get to flip a car," Kunis said in a group interview over the weekend in Beverly Hills, Calif., where she was promoting the comedy Extract. "I get to throw a grenade into a convoy of cars and explode them. I get to do other fun things that I can't talk about. The trailers are so small in comparison to how cool the movie is. I've got to tell you, the movie is really, really cool."

She may be better known at making people laugh, but her role in Eli is not her first action role. During the interview she discussed her first action role in last year's film Max Payne where she played the role of the assassin, Mona Sax. This time around, Kunis says her character has a lot more depth and from what I gather, it may also be a bigger role.

The plot line more or less takes place in the aftermath of a global disaster and follows the travels of the primary character, Eli, who is played by Denzel Washington, as he travels protecting a book.

"My character in that is pretty awesome, I have to say," Kunis said. "She starts off very young, very naive, very sheltered, but also very hungry to learn about life. What can I say? [She] gets inspired by Denzel Washington's character and goes on this journey with him throughout the film. It takes place in maybe four or five days, and she grows up so fast and so quickly and almost becomes a woman and takes over. She was a beautiful, beautiful woman to play."

From what I can tell, it seems like a very dark and interesting film which I am sure will be one to look forward to.Are you planning on seeing the film? The Book of Eli is set for release on Jan. 15, 2010.

I realized only after I posted this news, how unrelated it actually was to comic books.

@Babs:  Isn't the movie based on a comic book?  You said so in the intro.  That qualifies it as being related to comic books!!!!   This is valid comic book news.

You've got a movie based on a comic, plus Mila Kunis (yummy-cakes) and Denzel Frikiin' Washington.  Denzel Washington in a movie based on a comic book.  Hhhhmmm........ Man On Fire was an awesome movie so if this is even REMOTELY like it sign me up to see it.

Meg Griffin in an action, sci-fi movie? What'll happen next?
Peter Griffin as a Superman villain? Stewie Griffin as a member of the Simpsons family?

The Book of Eli sounds good.

Mila is a cutie. You also have to admire a woman who can speak different languages. That always grabs my attention.
She was really the sole light out of that Max Payne movie.

Ahhh, I don't know if you want to go that far. It's one of the more generic cop movies. Mila is also hardly in it. I also liked the girl who played Mila's sister in the movie, Olga Kurylenko. She was the female lead in Hitman, and she was the latest Bond Girl in Quantum of Solace.

@FoxxFireArt:  Yeah, Olga was good in Hitman, I still haven't seen Quantum of Solace, but I hear she was really good in that movie.

@jefprice:  Me too. Just because they want to see a chick like Megan Fox who is always half naked ... they never consider an actual actress who can act.

    @AngelFrost:
Hitman was a cool movie. I loved all the little touches that mimicked the games. Though it was disgusting how the opening credits were scenes from the Jessica Alba TV series Dark Angel. Seems they were too cheap to film their own opening. I just loved how awkward Agent 47 was with women. He wasn't a ladies man. He hardly knew how to talk to a woman.

It was interesting that Quantum of Solace starts almost moments after the end of the prior movie. My mother is a major fan girl for Daniel Craig now. It can be a bit embarrassing.

I got kind of irritated in Dark Angel how they had that virus so Max and Logan couldn't touch. I heard they cured that in one of the novels that picked up where the series left off.
You know, in real life those two were engaged for a while?

I loved that scene in Hitman where she's drunk and all over him, but he drugs her and passes out. He had that look of frustration and and relief.

It was entertaining at first in Dark Angel, but it got annoying that they would get close only to pull them apart again all the time.

That's such an ignorant comment. He's not gay. He just never grew up in a way for him to learn about women. He was originally created to do nothing but kill. He's completely inept when it comes to human interaction. That's why he was reading those magazines. He was trying to learn about women.
I like a male character that is after more in life then just tail.

I really enjoyed the games. I normally don't like games were you do nothing, but kill innocent people. It's why I never play the GTA series. Though in Hitman the people you were sent after were real scum of the Earth.
