Comic-Con: Tron Legacy Panel LiveBlog, Plus New Trailer
Well they got the original actors involved, graphics look incredible and it seems like they are faithful to the original movie... sign me up!
Super stoked for this movie. The first one might not have held up all that great, but this definitely looks like a great modernization of the concept.
I dont know if Jeff Bridges is in Tron or Westworld becuase his younger self looks like an android!!
they need to give up on those computer generated 'fountains of youth' effects. it just isnt there yet. there is a strange smooth lifeless quality to them. the actors look like they are wearing death masks. The ones they did in Xmen were just as bad. sirs Ian Mccellan and Patrick Stewart looked like they had been to one of Joan Rivers botox parties.
im sure the tech will advance well enough in the future that there will be a day when Elizabeth Taylor can be cast in leading lady rolls again or new movies will be produced staring Bette Davis and Heath Ledger (that would be interesting) but thankfully not yet.
Huge Tron fan here. I've been waiting for this for a long time.
I was so pumped after watching the first trailer in November of 2009, even though it still had the silly 'TR2N' name attached to it. Now, that it's called 'Legacy', and they're showing more of the character building scenes, I'm a bit concerned. In particular, there's the one with a slightly creepy looking Jeff Bridges smiling back at that child actor who is playing young Sam Flynn (I'm guessing). I'm afraid that they still haven't quite nailed the kind of work you need to do in 3D to make you believe that you're not looking at a CG model trying to fool you that Jeff Bridges hasn't aged since 1982.
Also, waaaaay too much slow-motion in this trailer. It was cool how they used it that one time right when the light-cycler had his cycle smashed in the previous trailer, but here it feels over-used.
That said, I'm hoping that the long wait means there's a great story that is worthy of the 30 plus years needed for this to get made, and it trumps any of the technical flaws this film might have. My two cents.
I totally agree, I think it looks better then digital Patrick Stewart though." This actually looks pretty good dont know how i feel about digitally young Jeff Bridges though "
This movie looks awesome and everyone at Comic con was really excited for it. I liked all the Tron stuff and chicks promoting the new Piranha 3D movie. Piranha 3D is going to be the first horror movie that I see in 3D and its so summer appropriate. Same director who did Hills Have Eyes. Tron is going to rock and Piranha 3D looks pretty freaking sweet also. Here are the pics from Comic-Con and it looks like all the cast was there jamming also.
