Samurai Jack #3 REVIEW!!!!
Jack's adventure to collect the threads of time continues!
THE GOOD
You know what this issue reminded me a lot of? The episode "Jack and the Lava Monster". This issue really reminded me how honorable Jack is to a warrior that is equally as good as him. What happened in that episode was that the Lava Monster needed to be killed by an honorable warrior to pass on to the next life. And that was kind of what happened in this issue. Kind of.
Writer Jim Zub really did a great job at conveying Jack's honor through this issue. Zub really built up a anticipation in this issue as it was kind of obvious that Gloer was hiding the thread of time. However, how Jim Zub handled the situation was pretty impressive. It really showed off Zub's skills as a writer for Samurai Jack and reminded (us the reader) that Jack is in good hands.
The artwork by Andy Suriano is still fantastic. He never fails to capture what Jack's world looks like.
THE BAD
No complaints.
THE VERDICT
Jim Zub and Andy Suriano did a great job at catching the honorable side of Samurai Jack's series. Jack is nothing without his honor, and Zub did a great job at conveying this through his writing. It showed Jack's more honorable side and how he relates to many people that think they've failed as warriors. The artwork by Suriano is still top notch and this gave me a little bit more trust in what this series will accomplish in the end. Overall 5 out of 5.
