Salvatore Maroni often called Salvatore "The Boss" Maroni is one of Gotham's most powerfull and most feared crime cheiftan's. Salvatore "The Boss" Maroni is Carmine "The Roman" Falcone biggiest rival for control of Gotham city. Sal grew up in the Maroni crime family and his father Don Luigi "Big Lou" Maroni was the founder of the Maroni crime family. Then eventually Luigi passed the rains down to Sal as Don or Boss. Sal also has two sons of his own, Pino and Umberto Maroni. As we will see in the Dark Victory series both brother's took over the family business.

Year One:

Year One was the debut of Sal Maroni and his rival Carmine Falcone. Here we are introduced to the appereance and occupation of Sal. And now become more familiar with his work.

The Long Halloween:

Sal was a extremely important and popular character in the Batman: The Long Halloween series. He him-self was often accused of being the Holiday murder which we found out was not true. Sal was known as a important character in issue #11 of THL because of his involvement in the transformation of Two-Face. During the court room hearing Salvatore hurled acid in the face of Gotham's District Attorney Harvey Dent, the acid was smuggled in by a corrupt assistant D.A. Maroni was shot three times by the court baliff but did not die!
