The Saiyajin is one of the most powerful alien races in the Dragonball Universe. They are commonly known as Saiyans in english.
The Saiyajins are a warrior race who shared Planet Plant with the Tsufurujins. Using their ability to transform at a full moon the Saiyajins over powered the Tsufurujins and gained control over the planet. The Saiyajins made one of them, named Vegeta, king of the planet and reanamed the planet as Planet Vegeta.
The Saiyajins soon went into business taking over other planets and selling them. Soon Freeza, an evil alien warrior, feared the Saiyjins potential and destroyed their home word killing their whole race except for four of them. The remaining four were Goku, Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa.
Later on Half-Saiyajins were born on Earth. Gohan was the first but he was soon followed by Trunks and then Goten.
