Sage had heard Professor X's telepathic cries for help and from there on began a deep friendship. Sage is a mutant with a computer-like brain. She can process large volumes of data with great efficiency, and has a photographic memory that allows her to recall anything she needs. She also has the ability to detect and manipulate the genetics of others. So far this ability has been used to unlock latent mutant abilities in normal humans, and to unlock hidden aspects of mutant powers. This ability works closely with her computer-like mind giving her the ability to quickly analyze and understand the subject's DNA. Sage exhibits strong willpower which protects her from certain telepathic attacks. She also has low level telepathic abilities which allow her to interface with others, which she can shut off at will to lock others out of her mind.
