In the final issue of "the trials of shazam", she was locked in battle with freddy, who had the intention of sending them both back into a portal that is ment to only be exited. As a result of this, they would both die an the power of shazam would be lost. Because of his willingness to sacrifice himself, Freddy's aid Zareb (who now is discovered to be Zeus) hurls the lighting bolt on freddy giving him the rest of the power of shazam. Right after this, Freddy hurled sabina into the portal and it closed. Because Freddy gained complete control of the powers, it has been assumed that sabina died, but it has not yet been determined.
